?Theater J begins the 2016-2017 season with the regional premiere of the rollicking, engaging, and thoughtful comedy, The Last Schwartz, written by Lilly Award Winner Deborah Zoe Laufer. It plays at Theater J September 7 through October 2, 2016 and kicks off the first season selected by new Artistic Director Adam Immerwahr.

Broadway In Chicago, Stageworks Media and TROIKA Entertainment have just announced casting for the upcoming National Touring production of CHEERS LIVE ON STAGE.

To acknowledge his outstanding contribution to classical theatre in America, British actor Charles Dance will accept the Shakespeare Theatre Company's (STC) prestigious William Shakespeare Award for Classical Theatre (Will Award) at the Harman Center for the Arts Annual Gala on Sunday, September 25, 2016, at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F St NW).

The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team of the West Coast premiere of OCTOBER SKY, which will blast off the Globe's 2016-2017 Season with a tale of boys, rockets, and big dreams.

The New York Musical Festival (NYMF), previously known as The New York Musical Theatre Festival, has announced that they have partnered with The ASCAP Foundation, The Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME), and SDC Foundation to curate three panel conversations with industry professionals, aimed at providing more insight into the musical development process.

Signature Theatre's JELLY'S LAST JAM, directed by Signature Associate Artistic Director Matthew Gardiner (Signature's La Cage Aux Folles, West Side Story) and choreographed by Jared Grimes (Broadway's After Midnight), runs August 2 - September 11 in Signature Theatre's intimate MAX Theatre. The musical about famed and notorious jazz entertainer Jelly Roll Morton by George C. An immersive performance experience created by the artists of Rorschach Theatre. The quiet English countryside changed with the arrival of its newest neighbor, Count Dracula. Even Lucy Seward, the daughter of the psychiatrist in charge of the local sanitorium, is behaving strangely. Her mysterious oddities are noticed by Jonathan Harker, the man who loves her, and her father who sends for Dr. Van Helsing. Van Helsing believes Lucy might be a victim of a ghost that sucks blood at night from its victims.

Kicking off its 30th Anniversary Season, the Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) will present William Shakespeare's The Tempest as the 2016 Free For All event. Directed by STC favorite and internationally-acclaimed director, Ethan McSweeny, The Tempest will feature STC Affiliated Artist and Broadway veteran Patrick Page as Prospero. STC will also welcome back Sara Topham as Ariel, last seen as Hippolyta/Titania in McSweeny's A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Affiliated Artist Edward Gero as Alonso, King Of Naples.

Actors' Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre is proud to present Buyer & Cellar directed by David Arisco and starring Carbonell Award-winning actor Chris Crawford. The production will play July 13 - August 7, 2016.
