The Menier Chocolate Factory today announces that Andy Nyman will lead the company as Tevye in its major revival of one of the world's most-beloved musicals of all time, Fiddler on the Roof, in a new staging by Trevor Nunn. The production opens on 5 December, with previews from 23 November, and runs until 9 March. Booking is open for supporters of the Menier with public booking opening on 5 September.

Jennifer Jewell presents 'Raison d'etre: an Evening of Pirandello,' adapted from selected works by Nobel Prize Laureate for Literature and Italian dramatist, novelist, poet, and writer Luigi Pirandello. 'Raison d'etre: an Evening of Pirandello,' explores the complexity and depth of Pirandello's work by taking his seminal play, 'Six Characters in Search of an Author' and infusing it with characters and themes from two of his notable one-act plays, 'Chee Chee' and 'The Man with the Flower In His Mouth.' 

American Conservatory Theater announces casting for Men on Boats-Jaclyn Backhaus's hilarious, historical, and moving adventure-playing at A.C.T.'sStrand Theater (1127 Market St., San Francisco) October 17-December 16, 2018.

Full casting is announced today for the Royal Shakespeare Company's Don Quixote, which originally premiered at the RSC's Swan Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon in spring 2016. The production will play at the Garrick Theatre in London's West End from 27 October 2018 to 2 February 2019.

Rehearsals begin yesterday for the world premiere of Martin McDonagh's A Very Very Very Dark Matter at the Bridge Theatre. The cast comprises Johnetta Eula'Mae Ackles, Alistair Benson, Elizabeth Berrington, Paul Bradley, Noah Brignull, Jim Broadbent, Phil Daniels, Regan Garcia, Leo Hart, Graeme Hawley, Audrey Hayhurst, Kundai Kanyama, Lee Knight, Jamie McKie, Ryan Pope, James Roberts, Alice Selwyn, Austin Taylor, Amelia Walter and Annabelle Westenholz-Smith including nine children who will alternate a variety of roles.

The British actress Judi Dench will receive the prestigious Donostia Award at the 66th edition of the San Sebastian Festival next month. The Festival's highest honorary award will be presented on Tuesday, September 25th, prior to the screening of Trevor Nunn's Red Joan, in which Dench plays a woman whose tranquil life is suddenly disrupted when she's arrested by MI5 and accused of providing intelligence to Communist Russia.

Pieter Toerien and GWB Entertainment are delighted to announce the casting of the eagerly anticipated MATILDA THE MUSICAL. The multi award-winning stage adaptation of the much-loved Roald Dahl classic was originally produced for the stage by the Royal Shakespeare Company. The first International Tour will commence in South Africa in October 2018.

The Suzi Bass Awards revealed nominations for the 2017-2018 Atlanta professional theatre season on Monday evening, August 27, to patrons and industry artists. In the Huntington Theatre Company's revival of Charles Marowitz's mystery play Sherlock's Last Case, alliances are tested, rivalries are raised from the dead, and long-simmering grudges play out in deadly ways. The beloved Sherlock Holmes, his aide de camp Dr. John Watson, and their put-upon landlady Mrs. Hudson - along with the iconic Baker Street flat - come to the Huntington Avenue Theatre Sep. 28 - Oct. 28, 2018, in a production directed by Maria Aitken.

Tennessee Shakespeare Company officially launches its 11th season in September when it brings William Shakespeare's raucous, romantic comedy The Two Gentlemen of Verona directed by Stephanie Shine to non-traditional sites throughout Shelby County.

Cleveland Play House (CPH) kicks off its 2018-2019 Season with the spine tingling tale of Susan Hill's The Woman in Black.  Hill's gothic ghost story, adapted for the stage by Stephen Mallatratt, will star Bradley Armacost as Arthur Kipps and Adam Wesley Brown as the Actor in the show that Daily Mail called, "A nerve-shredding experience."  Director Robin Herford will recreate his original staging from the London West End.  The American premiere of the West End Production is produced by PW Productions and Pemberley Productions.  Previews begin on September 15th, with press opening on September 21st at the Allen Theatre in Playhouse Square. 

As BroadwayWorld reported last week, acclaimed actor and director Brian Murray, who worked extensively on and off Broadway for more than fifty years, passed away from natural causes at the age of 80.

Two star-crossed lovers come together despite constant opposition from their warring families in Limelight Theatre's latest production, described as 'the greatest love story ever told'.

Two short one-acts, "Wild Orchids" and "Rosary Hill" by Heather J. Violanti, will debut September 10 to 16 in a double bill presented by Theater for the New City's Dream Up Festival. "Wild Orchids" is a film noir-esque, feminist, and fictionalized take on 1940's Hollywood, where a secretary has a chance encounter with William Faulkner that may change both their lives. In "Rosary Hill,' two gentle nuns tend to their garden in upstate New York but a closer look at the harsh Mother Superior reveals they may not be all that they seem. Both plays feature canny, nuanced female characters who have much more going on under the surface than meets the eye. Jennifer Sandella directs.

The Royal Shakespeare Company has announced new child casting for the Matilda The Musical UK and Ireland Tour with Sophia Ally and Scarlett Cecil joining Annalise Bradbury and Nicola Turner in sharing the title role of Matilda from 29 August. The West End production will continue to play at the Cambridge Theatre, where it is now in its seventh year and is booking until 20 October 2019.

National Theatre Live broadcasts return to the McAninch Arts Center, located at 425 Fawell Blvd. on the campus of College of DuPage, as part of the MAC's 2018-2019 Season. Kicking off the series on Thursday, Oct. 4 will be "Julie," a contemporary adaptation of August Strindberg's masterpiece, "Miss Julie."
