Broadway lovers and teddy bear collectors came together on March 18 at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill (237 West 42nd Street) for one last time to bid on - and bid adieu to - museum-quality bears representing legendary theatrical characters and autographed by the stars who made those characters famous. The cumulative fundraising total for the 15 editions of THE BROADWAY BEARS auctions is a remarkable $2,048,427. The previous fund-raising record was $170,000 set in 2002.

The 15th and grand finale edition of THE BROADWAY BEARS, the annual auction of handmade, one-of-a-kind, theatrically costumed teddy bears, raised a record-setting $198,300 on Sunday, benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Rattlestick Playwrights Theater announced today that its production of Yosemite, a new play written by Daniel Talbott will play four additional performances (through March 3rd). Performances began on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 and the show enjoyed an official opening night on Thursday, January 26th. Originally scheduled to run through Sunday, February 26th, Yosemite will now play through Saturday, March 3rd at Rattlestick Theater (224 Waverly Place - off Seventh Avenue South, between Perry & West 11th Streets).

One of the top-tier performers of a promising new generation of young stars on Broadway, Matt Doyle has appeared in both dramatic musicals and plays in establishing a versatile stage and screen career ranging from a multi-episode arc on GOSSIP GIRL to starring in SPRING AWAKENING on Broadway, as well as the recent revival of BYE BYE BIRDIE, in addition to his most recent New York credit, the highly acclaimed WAR HORSE at Lincoln Center. Equally at home in musicals and straight drama, Doyle's most recently released film venture is an intriguing and compelling independent feature showcasing his WAR HORSE co-star and fellow InDepth InterView participant Seth Numrich with a stylish and intense military school-set adaptation of ROMEO & JULIET titled PRIVATE ROMEO that, fortunately for all of us, also allows Doyle the chance to sing. Having studied at the Royal Academy in London, Doyle was perfectly prepared for his Shakespearean role in PRIVATE ROMEO and that training was also was influential to his success in the aforementioned musicals and plays he has starred in, as he generously fills us in on many memorable moments in his career to date and even shares his most recent experiences doing Michael John LaChiusa's GIANT. Exciting projects coming up next include a sequel to his 2011 EP, DAYLIGHT, titled - appropriately enough - SUNSET, as well as roles in theatre pieces currently in development. Rattlestick Playwrights Theater has announced the cast and creative team for the world premiere of Yosemite, a new play written by Daniel Talbott (Slipping). The fourth production of the company's 17th season, Yosemite will begin performances on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Rattlestick Theater (224 Waverly Place - off Seventh Avenue South, between Perry & West 11th Streets). The official opening night is set for Thursday, January 26th at 7pm. The production is scheduled to run through February 26th. Pedro Pascal directs.

Theatre fans opened their hearts and wallets Sunday at the 25th Annual Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction, propelling the unrivaled outdoor event to raise an astonishing $547,658 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

The 2011 Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS Flea Market ran on Sunday, September 25th from 10 AM - 7 PM on West 44th Street between Seventh and Eighth Avenues, and, for the first time, extended into Times Square, between 43rd and 44th Streets. Check out Part One of our Photo Coverage below.
