The CUNY Dance Initiative (CDI), a university-wide residency program, announces its spring 2017 performances and public events.

The CUNY Dance Initiative (CDI), a university-wide residency program heading into its fourth season, is awarding 15 choreographers/dance companies residencies at 12 CUNY colleges in the first half of 2017. CDI, led by New York City's public university system, is a unique model for collaboration. By opening the doors of CUNY campuses to New York City choreographers and dance companies, CDI aims to support dance artists, enhance college students' cultural life and education, and build new audiences for dance at CUNY performing arts centers.

Just in time for Hispanic Heritage Month, Ballet Hispanico introduces new adult class offerings in Salsa and Flamenco at the company's School of Dance at 167 W. 89th Street, NYC. The classes are recommended for ages 18 and up and will get attendees up and moving to the beat in no time. Celia: The Life and Music of Celia Cruz, the Off Broadway musical celebrating the legendary 'Queen of Salsa' currently playing at New World Stages celebrated its 200th performance last night on Tuesday, February 19.

On Friday, December 21, cast members from the off-Broadway productions of Celia, Jump, My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish & I'm In Therapy! and Wanda's World presented the final outdoor concert in a series of four fantastic Fridays of Off-Broadway performances at the Holiday Market in Union Square.

Celia: The Life and Music of Celia Cruz, the new musical that recently opened at New World Stages, has put a new block of tickets on sale today. Celia has also added another English-language performance on Tuesday evenings at 8PM.

Due to popular response, Celia: The Life and Music of Celia Cruz is extending performances at New World Stages for the holiday season through January 27 2008
