Steppenwolf Theatre Company Artistic Director Anna D. Shapiro and Executive Director David Schmitz announced today the 2017/18 Season. The nation's premier ensemble theater, Steppenwolf celebrates its 42nd season with seven captivating shows - three world premieres and four Chicago premieres - that embrace diversity, compassion and imagination.

AMERICAN SCOREBOARD: The Trump Administration is a series of readings that reflect the issues that President Donald Trump faces in office. The next reading in the series will take place on March 1, 2017 at 7pm and focus on the confirmation hearings for Tom Price, President Donald Trump's nominee to lead the Department of Health and Human Services.

This week The 5th Avenue Theatre and ACT - A Contemporary Theatre plot their first step in musical mayhem and begin rehearsals for the drop dead funny musical comedy Murder for Two.

Casting has been announced today for the European premiere of Guards at the Taj, written by Pulitzer Prize finalist Rajiv Joseph and directed by Jamie Lloyd. Danny Ashok (Disgraced, Bush Theatre; Capital, BBC) will play Humayun and Darren Kuppan (East is East, West End/ UK Tour) will play Babur. 

Due to extremely high ticket demand, Second Stage Theatre's New York premiere production of Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Tracy Letts' play, MAN FROM NEBRASKA, has announced a two-week extension after opening to extremely positive reviews on February 15th. The production will now play through March 26 at the Tony Kiser Theatre (305 West 43rd Street).

La Jolla Playhouse announces the cast and creative team for its 2017 Performance Outreach Program (POP) Tour production, #SuperShinySara, by Wesley Middleton, and helmed by acclaimed San Diego director and Moxie Theatre Artistic Director Delicia Turner Sonnenberg (Counterweight, Without Walls Festival 2013). The production will tour schools throughout San Diego County, now through March 31, 2017.

The Garden Theatre (160 W Plant St.) is proud to announce the outrageously funny Destiny of Desire, An Unapologetic Telenovela in Two Acts, showing March 17 - April 9, 2017. The Last Days of Judas Iscariot will receive a rare New York revival this spring at The Ellen Stewart Theatre at La MaMa (66 East 4th Street) with previews beginning March 9th, 2017 for a limited Off-Broadway engagement through March 26th.  Opening Night is set for Monday, March 13, 2017 at 7pm.

The Lark has announced playwrights Brittany K. Allen and Christina Quintana have been selected as the recipients of the 2017 Van Lier New Voices Fellowship.
