Karen Carpenter to Direct HANDLE WITH CARE at the Colony Theatre, 11/5-12/14

The Colony Theatre will present the third production of its historic 40thAnniversary season, the West Coast Premiere of HANDLE WITH CARE by Jason Odell Williams, directed by Karen Carpenter. HANDLE WITH CARE will preview on Wednesday, November 5; Thursday, November 6; andFriday, November 7 at 8:00pm. It will open on Saturday, November 8 at 8:00pm and continue through Sunday, December 14, with no performances Thanksgiving week.

Seattle Beckett Festival to Welcome Bill Irwin

Cornish College of the Arts, in association with the Seattle Beckett Festival and Seattle University, presents master actor and clown Bill Irwin for an evening of performance and conversation about the works of dramatist Samuel Beckett. Irwin will perform selections from Beckett's canon and discuss his work on the major plays and adaptations with Marcie Sillman, KUOW senior host.

Joyce Degenfelde Receives TPS' 2014 Sustained Achievement Award

Theatre Puget Sound (TPS) has announced Joyce Degenfelder as the 2013 recipient of the Gregory A. Falls Sustained Achievement Award. The committee of prior recipients has made this selection to honor her dedication to the Seattle theatre community. This award, along with 19 others, will be presented at the 6th Annual Gregory Awards held at The Moore Theatre on Monday, October 20, 2014 at 7:30pm.

City of Berkeley Proclaims September 30, 2014 'Tony Taccone Day' in Honor of Berkeley Rep's Artistic Director

Berkeley Repertory Theatre announces that the City of Berkeley has proclaimed Tuesday, September 30, 2014 Tony Taccone Day. This day will honor Berkeley Rep's Michael Leibert Artistic Director Tony Taccone as a pioneer in contemporary American theatre. Berkeley Mayor Tom Bates will host a ceremony to present Taccone an official proclamation between 7:00 PM and 7:30 PM in the City Council Chambers at 2134 Martin Luther King Jr. Way. The ceremony will be broadcast on local radio through KPFB Radio 89.3 and on television through Cable B-TV, Channel 33.

OSF's INTO THE WOODS Joins Wallis Annenberg Center's 2014-15 Season

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival's (OSF) production of Into the Woods will move to Beverly Hills, Calif., as part of the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts' 2014-15 season. With music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine, Into the Woods runs through October 11 in OSF's outdoor Allen Elizabethan Theatre before heading to the Wallis' Bram Goldsmith Theater December 2-21, 2014.

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company officially opens their 2014-2015 season with the highly anticipated production of the Regional Premiere of F. Scott Fitzgerald's 'The Great Gatsby' adapted for the stage by Simon Levy. Huntington/Coolidge's 'Stage & Screen' Series to Open 9/8 with JUNGLE FEVER

Stage & Screen, a collaboration between Coolidge Corner Theatre and Huntington Theatre Company that explores the depictions of shared themes in Huntington productions and acclaimed films announces four upcoming film screenings and post-screening conversations with Huntington artists and experts. Tickets to each screening are $11 ($8 for Coolidge members with member ID and Huntington Theatre Company subscribers with promo code) and may be purchased online at coolidge.org or at the Coolidge box office, located at 290 Harvard Street, Brookline.

TeenTix Announces Nominees for 2014 Teeny Awards; Ceremony Set for 9/20

For the sixth year, Seattle's TeenTix, an arts access and engagement program for teenagers, has announced the nominees for its annual Teeny Awards. Like a Teen Choice Awards for local arts events and organizations, the Teeny Awards aim to empower teen arts audiences and to recognize those organizations that have done an especially good job of welcoming young people over the past year.

Seattle Rep Welcomes Marya Sea Kaminski as New Associate Artistic Director

Seattle Repertory Theatre announced today the appointment of Marya Sea Kaminski as Associate Artistic Director, effective Sept.16, 2014. Kaminski, who most recently taught acting at Cornish College of the Arts, has appeared as an actor and solo performer throughout Seattle and beyond, including roles at the Rep in My Name is Rachel Corrie (2007) and Clybourne Park (2012).

Everyman Theatre to Host WAITING IN THE WINGS PAnel, 9/6

On Saturday, September 6th, Everyman Theatre welcomes seasoned theatrical professionals for its panel discussion entitled "Waiting in the Wings." The panel is a part of the discussion series, The World of the Play, which began during the 2013/14 season.
