Watts, Savior Adore & Hooray For Earth Perform At Page 73 Benefit 6/22

Acclaimed performer REGGIE WATTS and up-and-coming bands SAVOIR ADORE and HOORAY FOR EARTH join forces and perform on Tuesday, June 22 at the 92YTribeca (200 Hudson Street) as part of PAGE 73's benefit for the company's development programs (the P73 Playwriting Fellowship, I-73 writing group, and the Yale Summer Residency). Playwright TOMMY SMITH serves as the master of ceremonies.

FREED Receives NYC Premiere at Americas Off Broadway, Opens 6/16

59E59 Theaters (Elysabeth Kleinhans, Artistic Director; Peter Tear, Executive Producer) welcomes Penguin Rep Theatre, in association with Chase Mishkin, to AMERICAS OFF BROADWAY with the New York City premiere of FREED, written by Charles Smith and directed by Joe Brancato. FREED begins previews on Friday, June 11 for a limited engagement through Saturday, July 3.

TopDog Productions & Elephant Theatre Co Presents TOPDOG/UNDERDOG

TopDog Productions in a co-production with the Elephant Theatre Company are thrilled to announce the Los Angeles Intimate Theatre Premiere of the 2002 Pulitzer Prize-winning play, TOPDOG/UNDERDOG, written by Suzan-Lori Parks and directed by Marty Papazian.

Gordon's SYCAMORE TREES at Signature Closes 6/13

Previews will begin today at Virginia's Signature Theatre for the world premiere musical Sycamore Trees written by Ricky Ian Gordon, the award-winning composer of the opera The Grapes of Wrath and the musicals Dream True and My Life with Albertine. A starry Broadway cast portrays Gordon's own family story - complete with a tough Bronx-born father and former 'Borscht Belt' singer/comedian mother - in a tale of two generations' struggles and triumphs in the decades from World War II through the 1990s.

PTC's MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM Closes 6/13

Philadelphia Theatre Company concludes its 2009-2010 season with August Wilson's masterpiece and first Broadway success Ma Rainey's Black Bottom on May 21-June 13.

Vineyard Theatre Presents THE REAL STORY BEHIND THE METAL CHILDREN 6/11

Obie Award-winning playwright Adam Rapp, along with Joan E. Brancati, Martin, & Pitre Set For LOVE, LOSS AND WHAT I WORE in Toronto, 7/21 - 9/4

Paula Brancati, Lauren Collins, Wendy Crewson, Cynthia Dale, Andrea Martin, and Louise Pitre are officially set to be the first cast of the Toronto production of LOVE, LOSS, AND WHAT I WORE. As in the initial New York staging of the play by Nora and Delia Ephron, the production will feature a company of six that rotates in four-week cycles. The next cast will be announced in the next upcoming weeks.

Book-It Presents THE CIDER HOUSE RULES, PART ONE Beginning 6/9

The Cider House Rules has a special place in Book-It's history as the first full-length novel adapted in the Book-It StyleTM, and as a turning-point undertaking that helped the once fledgling company establish itself firmly in the Seattle theatre community. The company is thrilled to celebrate its 20th Anniversary season with both Parts One and Two of The Cider House Rules. The Cider House Rules, Part One: Here in St. Clouds plays on Book-It Repertory Theatre's stage at the Center House Theatre June 9 to July 11, 2010. Part Two will take the stage to open the company's 2010-11 season next September.

Mac et al. Receive Playwrights Center of Minneapolis Fellowships

The Playwrights' Center of Minneapolis named the recipients of the 2010-11 McKnight National Residency and Commission (Taylor Mac), McKnight Advancement Grants (Mat Smart and Deborah Stein), and McKnight Theater Artist Fellowships (Annie Enneking, Masanari Kawahara, and Robert Rosen) on June 7, 2010. The three programs provide nearly $150,000 in grants and artistic support funds and are underwritten by the Minneapolis-based McKnight Foundation.

Connecticut Repertory Theatre Opens Nutmeg Summer Series With RENT 5/27-6/6

Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT), the professional producing arm of the Department of Dramatic Arts at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, will open its Nutmeg Summer Series with the rock musical, Rent, running May 27 through June 6 in the Harriet S. Jorgensen Theatre (Lower Jorgensen). This will be CRT's first full summer season since 2002.
