A musical now playing on Broadway, a coproduction between two San Diego theaters, a musical staged with a local high school and two homegrown festivals were honored by the San Diego Theatre Critics Circle Monday at its 2013 Craig Noel Awards.

Opera Index presents its 34th Distinguished Achievement Award to the powerful and charismatic bass-baritone Eric Owens at its annual black-tie winter gala on Sunday, January 13. WS Holland, best known for being Johnny Cash's drummer, was at Sun Studios on December 4, 1956 to record 'Matchbox' with Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis when Johnny Cash and Elvis showed up.
