It's a classic mix of old and new as the 2013 hit returns to the Signature.

The Jonathan Larson Grant recipient is excited to be a part of the 2013 hit's return engagement.

"This is a young person's form," Bill Irwin insisted when Signature's James Houghton insisted he and Shiner create a new show together.

Signature Theatre has announced a four week extension for the special return engagement of Old Hats, created and performed by Bill Irwin and David Shiner, with music and lyrics by and featuring Shaina Taub, directed by Tina Landau. The production begins performances January 26 and will now play through April 3, 2016 with a Thursday, February 18 opening night in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). Tickets start at $45. To purchase tickets for all Signature productions, call Ticket Services at 212-244-7529 (Tues. - Sun., 11am - 6pm) or visit www.SignatureTheatre.org.

Jeffrey Hatcher's stage adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel A CONFERERACY OF DUNCES, now in its world premiere at the Huntington Theatre Company in Boston, feels like a lost opportunity. Much like its obnoxious and oversized central character Ignatius J. Reilly, a slovenly, unemployed 30-year-old still living with and supported by his sweetly doting mother, the play is a lumbering behemoth that is often equal parts boring and boorish.

Signature Theatre has announced that tickets are now on sale for the special return engagement of Old Hats, created and performed by Bill Irwin and David Shiner, now with music and lyrics by and featuring Shaina Taub. Tina Landau will once again direct the production The New York Times called 'the secret to eternal youth!' 

The Huntington Theatre Company presents the world premiere production of A Confederacy of Dunces, adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher from the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by John Kennedy Toole, directed by David Esbjornson (Guess Who's Coming to Dinner and All My Sons) and featuring Nick Offerman of NBC's 'Parks and Recreation.'  Performances begin November 11, 2015 and will run through December 13, 2015 at the BU Theatre / Avenue of the Arts. 

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater's Artistic Director David Van Asselt and Managing Director Brian Long have announced that Hamlet In Bed, written by Michael Laurence and directed by Lisa Peterson, will begin previews Friday, August 28, at 8pm at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, 224 Waverly Place.  Joining Mr. Laurence in the cast is Annette O'Toole.  The official opening night is set for Thursday, September 10; the production will run through Sunday, October 25.

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY: The Bard SummerScape festival presents an entirely new way to experience Oklahoma!, Rodgers and Hammerstein's quintessential celebration of the American frontier. Starring Damon Daunno, Amber Gray, and two-time Tony nominee Mary Testa, Bard's production is directed by Daniel Fish - 'a magical manipulator' (New York Times) - with new musical arrangements for a six-piece Americana band by Henry Hewes Award-winner Daniel Kluger, and new choreography by Jacob's Pillow Dance Award-winner John Heginbotham. This intimate, revelatory production brings audience and artists together in the round, sharing food and telling the story of a young nation forming its identity. Oklahoma!will be mounted in 25 performances between June 25 and July 19 in the LUMA Theater of the Frank Gehry-designed Fisher Center. As her roof buckles under the weight of the rain, Shelah's convictions begin to wash away, leaving her to excavate the truths buried below. Directed by Tina Landau, the riveting Head of Passes comes to the Bay Area straight from its critically lauded world premiere in Chicago. Head of Passes is a co-production with the Public Theater in New York. It begins previews on Berkeley Rep's intimate Thrust Stage today, April 10, opens today, April 17, and runs through Sunday, May 24, 2015.
