Tony Award nominee Bobby Cannavale might soon return to Broadway in the Kathleen Marshall-helmed NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT, according to the NY Post. Cannavale would join the previously announced Matthew Broderick in the musical, and is currrently taking singing lessons to prepare for the role. No official casting announcement has been made.

Matthew Broderick in Recovery from Back Surgery

Tony Award-winner Matthew Broderick will soon return to Broadway in the Kathleen Marshal-helmed NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT, but according to the NY Post, he will have to first recover from back surgery that he recently under-went. His spokesperson told NYP, 'Matthew had a sports injury some time ago. He pulled something in his back and recently underwent routine surgery. It was a simple procedure, he is fine and is up and about and back at home.'

George Street Playhouse Artistic Director David Saint announced the slate of productions for the fall and winter of the New Brunswick theatre's 2011-2012 season - its 38th. Keeping true to its mission of producing new work, the season will begin with two world premieres - both musicals -followed by a New Jersey premiere of a recent Tony Award-winning play and a recent Broadway comedy in the spring of 2012.

Platt and Scott Landis, will produce the Broadway premiere of VENUS IN FUR, the play by David Ives directed by Tony Award winner Walter Bobbie featuring Tony Award nominee Nina Arianda reprising her acclaimed breakthrough performance. VENUS IN FUR will begin performances Thursday, October 13 at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street) in a limited engagement. A November opening night for the production will be announced shortly.
TDF Holds OPEN DOORS Graduation, 6/6

Over 350 guests including current and past New York City high school students, and the 28 mentors who have participated in TDF's Open Doors, the theatre arts mentoring program that TDF founded in 1998 with playwright Wendy Wasserstein, will attend this year's graduation at 6pm on Monday, June 6 at NYC Center Stage 1 (131 West 55th Street, NYC). This year has been Open Doors biggest year ever with a total of 28 mentors and guest mentors working with 21 groups of students from New York City high schools.
