The nominations for the 34th London Critics' Circle Film Awards were announced today, with British director Steve McQueen's 12 Years A Slave topping members' ballots with 9 nominations.

As graffiti artists are claiming even more territory from walls to trucks and benches, while cities and business people decry their work, book author and indie filmmaker Gini Graham Scott has created a series of books and photo videos to celebrate the artists' often ephemeral canvases. She has also become fascinated with seeing their work as an anthropological journal featuring their major interests and themes.

The problem of Internet book piracy is one that affects millions of writers and publishers who find that their books have been scanned or their digital files have been copied. Then, these files are uploaded to hundreds of websites, which feature pirated works or combine them with legitimate uploads. The losses to writers and publishers due to piracy are estimated at over $3 billion a year.

Box Office Opens Tomorrow for THE GLASS MENAGERIE at Broadway's Booth Theatre

Producers Jeffrey Richards and John N. Hart Jr., in association with the American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.), have announced that the box office will open on Thursday, August 8th for the 17-week limited engagement of the critically-acclaimed revival of The Glass Menagerie at the Booth Theatre (222 W 45th Street) with performances beginning Thursday, September 5, 2013, and an opening night set for Thursday, September 26th. The production will star multiple Tony and Emmy Award-winner Cherry Jones as Amanda Wingfield, film and stage star Zachary Quinto as Tom, two-time Tony-nominee Celia Keenan-Bolger as Laura, and Brian J. Smith as Jim, the Gentleman Caller.

Stage Entertainment USA and Sylvester Stallone have announced that the new musical, ROCKY, will come to Broadway in 2014, beginning preview performances in February and officially opening in March at Broadway's historic Winter Garden Theatre. ROCKY received its world premiere in fall 2012 in Hamburg, Germany.

The National Theatre's production of The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time leads the list with eight nominations, followed by the toe-tapping new musical Top Hat receiving seven, and the West End transfer of Chichester Festival Theatre's revival of Sweeney Todd in close competition with six. Other stand-out nominations include The Audience and Kiss Me, Kate receiving five each, and Constellations, The Bodyguard and Twelfth Night with four.
