The Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts presents Tectonic Theater Project's groundbreaking
play The Laramie Project and the new companion piece The Laramie Project: Ten Years Later, November 11-13, 2010. Now more relevant than ever, these two plays explore the impact that the murder of Matthew Shephard (12 years ago this month) had not only on the town of Laramie, Wyoming but also on our nation, and how the effect of that impact continues to be felt today. According to the Boston Herald, 'Tectonic's production of The Laramie Project and Ten Years Later is a rare wonder indeed. This is theater that's more than just powerful; it's elemental.' Performances take place in the Zellerbach Theatre and are part of a limited seven city national tour by Tectonic Theater Project. Metropolitan Playhouse, 'theatrical archaeologist extraordinaire' (Backstage), presents a revival of The Drunkard, or The Fallen Saved by W. H. Smith. First presented in Boston in 1844, and later by P.T. Barnum in New York in 1848, The Drunkard now receives its first professional production in the city since 1993. Frank Kuhn comes to New York to direct Metropolitan's revival at 220 E 4th Street September 18th through October 17th, 2010.

New York theater troupe Tectonic Theater Project will join our inaugural season with the national tour of The Laramie Project Residency. Written and directed by Tony and Emmy Award nominee Moisés Kaufman (Broadway and Arena's 33 Variations), The Laramie Project Residency features both The Laramie Project and The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later, which debuted last fall with 150 simultaneous readings around the world, including one hosted by Arena Stage. Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces the award-winning New York theater troupe Tectonic Theater Project will join the 2010-2011 season with its national tour of The Laramie Project and The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later. Five performances will be presented in the Kreeger Theater November 19-21, 2010 and will feature many of the original cast members from The Laramie Project.
