The event will feature the presentation of the 2016 Susan Stroman Directing Award to Lee Sunday Evans (D DEB DEBBIE DEBORAH, A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN NOVEMBER...).

The Drama League (Executive Artistic Director, Gabriel Shelian-Shanks) gathers today for the 82nd Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony, hosted by 2016 Tony® Award-nominees, Zachary Levi (She Loves Me) and Megan Hilty (Noises Off), in the Broadway Ballroom at the Marriott Marquis Times Square (1535 Broadway). 

The 2016 Drama League Award Nominees for Outstanding Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award were just announced this morning at Sardi's, by Aladdin stars Adam Jacobs, Courtney Reed and James Monroe Iglehart. A new musical by John Kander and Gregory Pierce, KID VICTORY, along with the new plays THIS DAY FORWARD by Nicky Silver and CAN YOU FORGIVE HER? by Gina Gionfriddo, will be produced by the Vineyard Theatre during the 2016-2017 season, it has been announced by the company's Artistic Directors, Douglas Aibel and Sarah Stern. Vineyard Theatre, in association with La Jolla Playhouse and Yale Repertory Theatre, has announced that tickets are now on sale as of today, March 22 at noon for the New York premiere of INDECENT, a new play with music, written by Paula Vogel, created by Paula Vogel and Rebecca Taichman, and directed by Rebecca Taichman, at The Vineyard (108 East 15th Street). DOT by Colman Domingo - currently starring as Strand on AMC's FEAR THE WALKING DEAD and also in The Sundance Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award winner THE BIRTH OF A NATION by Nate Parker - just opened at the Vineyard Theatre (108 E. 15th St.). Vineyard Theatre will present a special series of post-show discussions to be moderated by special guests throughout the run of its production, DOT, by Colman Domingo, directed by Susan Stroman, which began previews February 4 and opens February 23 at The Vineyard (108 E. 15 St.), it has been announced by Douglas Aibel and Sarah Stern, artistic directors.

Vineyard Theatre's 2015-2016 season began Wednesday, November 11 at 8pm when the new musical comedy GIGANTIC began previews at The Acorn Theatre @ Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street), where it plays through December 20. GIGANTIC features a book by Randy Blair (PEREZ HILTON SAVES THE UNIVERSE, SPIDERMUSICAL) and Tim Drucker (PEREZ HILTON SAVES THE UNIVERSE, SPIDERMUSICAL), music by Matthew roi Berger (SPIDERMUSICAL), lyrics by Randy Blair, choreography by Chase Brock (SPIDER-MAN TURN OFF THE DARK) and will be directed by Scott Schwartz (BAT BOY: THE MUSICAL). Chaired by members of the Vineyard Council, the event will feature the presentation of the 2015 Paula Vogel Playwriting Award to Boo Killebrew (MILLER, MISSISSIPPI). Clare Barron (YOU GOT OLDER), Vineyard's 2014 Paula Vogel Playwriting Award winner, will also be recognized at the luncheon.

Artistic Directors Douglas Aibel and Sarah Stern announce that the musical comedy GIGANTIC will open the Vineyard Theatre's 2015-2016 season, which includes the previously announced new plays INDECENT by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel and DOT by the actor and playwright Colman Domingo. The season will also include a Developmental Lab of Christopher Chen's YOU MEAN TO DO ME HARM in the summer of 2016. Chen is the recipient of the Vineyard's 2013 Paula Vogel Playwriting Award.
