The week before the Emmys, veteran host, Neil Patrick Harris said that he and his producers had decided against a splashy opening number to avoid comparisons with his spectacular Tony Opening Number. However, that didn't stop them from putting together a 'Mid-Show Number.'

The Hub Network, a destination for kids and their families, announced today that Bailee Madison ('Trophy Wife'), Laura Marano ('Austin & Ally'), Rico Rodriguez ('Modern Family'), Raini Rodriguez ('Austin & Ally'), Keean Johnson ('Spooksville') and Todd Newton ('Family Game Night') will present at the star-studded 'Hub Network's First Annual Halloween Bash,' celebrating all things Halloween. As previously announced, 'Saturday Night Live' actor and comedian, Kenan Thompson, will host the one-of-a-kind special, including a performance by chart-topping musician Cody Simpson. The 'Halloween Bash' will also include the first-ever nationwide 50-state costume competition judged by a celebrity panel, including Halloween-expert Martha Stewart. The live-to-tape event will be broadcast on Saturday, October 26, 8-10 p.m. ET/5-7 p.m. PT. Additional presenters, judges and chart-topping musical acts will also be announced shortly.

This fall, COMEDY CENTRAL is looking for the best new stand-up talent in the country including the Bay Area by holding 'Up Next' A CC: Certified Talent Search through the network's Certified Clubs program. 'Up Next' A CC: Certified Talent Search will consist of comedians performing in preliminary local showcases hosted by Cobb's Comedy Club and 25 other participating Certified Clubs from September 3-23. The preliminary showcase for Cobb's Comedy Club in San Francisco will take place tonight, September 15, 7:30pm.

The 8th Annual Laugh For Sight NYC All-Star Comedy Benefit, with headliners Jerry Seinfeld and Robert Klein and featuring Hiram Kasten (among others). The benefit, hosted by WFAN's 'Boomer & Carton In the Morning's' Craig Carton, will take place on Monday, October 28th at 7:00p.m. at Gotham Comedy Club in New York City.

COMEDY CENTRAL is rolling out the red carpet for the multi-hyphenated and extremely talented James Franco.

Comedy Central is putting its Emmy-nominated Roast franchise at its fans' fingertips. The network announced today that the premiere of the 'COMEDY CENTRAL Roast of James Franco' will be expanded to multiple screens with a livestream and an exclusive red carpet pre-show across CC.com, mobile, tablets and on its CC:Stand-Up app on Xbox 360.

Comedian, actor and writer, Brian Posehn, will visit Comix At Foxwoods for the first time for a four show lineup this October. With performances Thursday, Oct. 17 through Saturday, Oct. 19, Posehn will perform at 8 p.m. nightly, before finishing the weekend on Oct. 19 with a 'nasty'-themed showcase at 10:30 p.m.

Premium TV network EPIX announced the continuation of the hilarious season of Comedy Unbound that began earlier this month. EPIX will premiere another new hour-long special - Jim Norton: American Degenerate - tonight, August 23. From stand-up comedy to film and television, Sarah Silverman has made her comedy mark on the entertainment world.
