Cherry Lane Theatre Announces Playwright Pairings for MENTOR PROJECT 2016

MENTOR PROJECT - the Cherry Lane Theatre's Obie-winning program for new playwrights - will mark another milestone this year when three emerging writers are mentored by three previous Mentored Playwrights from the program's early years, with fully-staged productions presented by Cherry Lane (38 Commerce St. in NYC) from February 24 to April 23, 2016 it has been announced by the theater's Producing Artistic Director, Angelina Fiordellisi.

Harold Clurman Playwrights Division Reveals Winners of 10-Minute Play Search

The Harold Clurman Playwrights Division, a program of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, has announced the results of its search for ten-minute plays with social impact. In early 2014, the division sought plays that address issues of the environmental crisis or global violence against women and girls. Over sixty plays were received. Seven of them will be read on Monday, October 20, 2014 at 7pm as part of the Harold Clurman Festival of the Arts, an annual event that highlights the relationship between art and social activism. The cast will be comprised of studio alumni and faculty. The selected plays and authors follow:

Page 73 Productions - the Off-Broadway company dedicated to producing and developing works by early-career playwrights -- has announced 26 semi-finalists for their 2014 development programs. Page 73's slate of individually-tailored developmental programs for early-career playwrights includes the P73 Playwriting Fellowship, the Interstate 73 writers group, and the Summer Residency at Yale University.

The Theatre and Interpretation Center at Northwestern University will continue its 2008-09 season in May with the two remaining Mainstage productions: an adaptation of a Pierre Corneille classic, and a Holocaust drama by Israeli playwright and director Joshua Sobol. It also will present a Wallis Works-In-Progress adaptation of a story by Zimbabwean doctor and celebrated writer J. Nozipo Maraire.
