Pittsburgh Opera opens its 79th season with Puccini's powerful Tosca, at the Benedum Center October 7th -15th.

The Prop Thtr has announced that it will co-produce two plays, The Days of Commune by Bertolt Brecht (transl. David Constantine), and In Sarah's Shadow: The Eleanora Duse Story, in collaboration with Pop Magic Productions this fall 2017 at The Prop Thtr, 3502 N. Elston Ave, in Chicago. The Days of Commune, directed by Stefan Brun and featuring Prop Thtr's ensemble, opens Friday, October 20. 

'Eleanora Duse Dies in Pittsburgh' is a short dark comedy, written by Don Nigro about the terror and holiness of theater. Famous Italian actress Eleanora Duse finds herself regretful of her past actions and attempts to find some sort of relief only to be pestered by the comedic interactions of other famous characters around her, leaving her more uncertain of her eventual fate. Theater for the New City's Dream Up Festival will present the play's New York premiere August 27 to September 12. Aan Steele directs and heads the cast of eight as Duse.

In a busy year for Shakespeare in Central Pennsylvania, Harrisburg Shakespeare Company gives the Scottish Play some twists and turns for the summer's biggest production.

The nationally regarded Fulton Theatre will present the Pennsylvania Premiere of the Tony Award-winning musical Disney's Newsies, June 6 through July 23. The inspirational Disney's Newsies, based on the real-life Newsboys strike of 1899 and the 1992 film, was the toast of Broadway for more than two years.

 The nationally regarded Fulton Theatre adds five performances to the existing run of In The Heights as presales break records. Added performances include Sunday, March 19 at 7:30 pm, Thursday, March 23 at 2:00 pm, Sunday, April 2 at 7:30 pm, Monday, April 3 at 7:30 pm and Tuesday, April 4 at 7:30 pm. In The Heights must close April 4.

Making his Segerstrom Center for the Arts debut, Tony Award® nominee Charles Busch is bringing his unique and critically-acclaimed talents to the Samueli Theater March 9-11, 2017 as part of Segerstrom Center's Cabaret Series. Entitled THE LADY AT THE MIC, Busch will enchant audiences in this intimate evening of songs and stories which he originally created for Lincoln Center's American Songbook series. Busch will be accompanied by longtime musical director Tom Judson where the artists will be paying tribute to extraordinary and much-missed women. Before Busch sashays into Costa Mesa, he agreed to answer a few questions from BroadwayWorld's Michael L. Quintos about the upcoming OC cabaret concert.

The production was recently produced at the 2016 Tennessee Williams Theatre Festival in Provincetown, Massachusetts where it played to sold-out houses. Legendary New York actor/writer/director, Everett Quinton who is best known for his work with Ridiculous Theatrical Company, directs.

The nationally regarded Fulton Theatre announces a third holiday offering to Lancaster audiences - and beyond. The Santaland Diaries has been called "A sardonic, merrily subversive tale" (New York Newsday) and will have a limited run of six performances in the Tell Studio Theatre at the Fulton.
