Basic Training: Strengthening Your Administrative Core is a series of six workshops covering topics that are key to successfully mounting Theater Productions, either as one-time events or as part of the establishment and running of a company. The series begins Monday, October 21st and concludes Monday, April 14th. All workshops will take place at the new StageSource offices located at 15 Channel Center Street in Boston's Fort Point area. June 29th at the A.R.T.'s Loeb Drama Center StageSource will host its 5th bi-annual theater conference for the greater New England Area. The Conference brings together hundreds of working theater professionals and organizations to discuss the issues that face the theater making sector. The 2013 focus is Reframing Success where we as a community will confront the idea of success in the 21stcentury and how redefining success on our own terms is a can benefit both individual artists and area producers and lead to a more fulfilling career. Actors' Shakespeare Project has announced that the American Theatre Wing, best known as the creator of the Antoinette Perry "Tony" Awards, is awarding the Company with one of the 2012 National Theatre Company grants.
After undergoing a national search for a new Artistic Director, Actors' Shakespeare Project announced today the choice of Allyn Burrows for the position. Burrows, who has held the position of Acting Artistic Director for the past five months, will assume the permanent role of Artistic Director immediately. Cynthia Good, a longtime board member and Chair of the Search Committee, expresses A.S.P.'s delight at the choice of Burrows, saying, 'Allyn embodies the aesthetic and working vision of A.S.P. He comes to us understanding the vibrancy of the language of Shakespeare and the collaborative nature of our work with the company and the community. He will help us move into the next phase of our future.'
