Last night, June 18, The Public Theater celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the Delacorte Theater, home of Shakespeare in the Park, and honored Al Pacino for his body of work at The Public. The evening included a benefit reading of Romeo and Julie featuring Kevin Kline as Romeo and Meryl Streep as Juliet. 'Thorne' is a two part ENCORE original event. 'Thorne: Sleepyhead' is a startling contemporary take on the thrilling, chilling, crime drama, adapted from Mark Billingham's bestselling novel 'Sleepyhead' (2001). Directed by Stephen Hopkins ('House of Lies,' '24') the series stars acclaimed actor David Morrissey ('The Walking Dead,' Centurion, State of Play) who plays the complex and compelling character Detective Inspector Tom Thorne.
