San Diego Ballet Company Presents THE MANY LOVES OF DON JUAN, 2/21-23

The sultry, sensuous rhythms and melodies of Spain come together for this timeless parable of love and destiny directed and choreographed by award-winning artistic director, Javier Velasco, and featuring Maxim Tchernychev, formerly of the Bolshoi Ballet.

Theatre @ Boston Court Presents SE LLAMA CRISTINA, Now thru 2/23

The Theatre @ Boston Court presents Se Llama Cristina, by Octavio Solis, directed by Robert Castro. This production is the final stop on the National New Play Network Rolling World Premiere, which included productions at The Magic Theater in San Francisco and Kitchen Dog in Dallas. Opening night is Saturday, January 25, 2014 on the Main Stage at Boston Court Performing Arts Center, 70 North Mentor Avenue.

Canyon Crest Academy to Present TWELFTH NIGHT and LES MISERABLES SCHOOL EDITION, Feb-March 2014

Canyon Crest Academy (CCA) Envision Theatre will present William Shakespeare's 'Twelfth Night', guest directed by Jason Maddy, from February 28 - March 8, 2014 at the CCA Black Box Theatre. The production team also includes Jeremy Sewell (CCA Technical Director/Set Designer) and CCA Students Mandy Wirt (Assistant Director) and Kara Mendez (Stage Manager).

Buckminster Fuller THE HISTORY (and Mystery) OF THE UNIVERSE at San Jose Repertory Theatre January 30 through February 23, 2014.

San Diego Theatre Critics Circle Reveal 2013 Craig Noel Award Nominees

Dominating the nominations in the musical category is the current Broadway sensation 'A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder,' which made its world premiere in February 2013 at San Diego's The Old Globe (a co-production with Hartford Stage). The musical racked up 11 nominations, including nods for New Musical, its versatile star Jefferson Mays (a UC San Diego alumnus) and its director Darko Tresnjak (former co-artistic director and Shakespeare Festival director at The Old Globe).

Lark and FONCA Host 2013 Mexico/U.S. Word Exchange Readings This Weekend

The Lark Play Development Center in collaboration with Mexico's National Fund for Culture and Arts (FONCA) is pleased to announce the 2013 Mexico/ U.S. Playwright Exchange Program. For the eighth year the Lark will host playwrights from Mexico and pair them with bilingual U.S. playwrights, actors, and directors for a ten day cultural exploration that establishes ongoing channels of communication between artists in both countries.

Geva Theatre's Leadership Recognized in Area Awards, Nov 2013

It is a special occasion when a leader of any organization is recognized for their achievements, but when both of the Co-CEO's are recognized in the same year, it is cause for celebration. The Arts & Cultural Council for Greater Rochester recently announced the recipients of their Annual Arts Awards. Geva's Artistic Director Mark Cuddy will be receiving the 2013 Performing Artist Award, on Wednesday, November 20, 2013.

NNPN Kicks Off 35th Rolling World Premiere: PLUTO by Steve Yockey Today

The NATIONAL NEW PLAY NETWORK (NNPN), the country's alliance of non-profit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, announces its 35th Rolling World Premiere: Steve Yockey's Pluto will receive three productions through the Network's Continued Life of New Plays Fund in the 2013/14 season. Pluto will begin its Rolling World Premiere at Actor's Express (Atlanta, GA, today, November 16 - December 8, 2013), followed by performances at Forum Theatre (Washington, DC, February 20 - March 15, 2014) and Orlando Shakespeare Theatre (Orlando, FL, February 27 - March 23, 2014).

The Old Globe's MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING Opens Tonight

The Old Globe presents The Old Globe/University of San Diego Graduate Theatre Program presentation of William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, running tonight, Nov. 9 - Nov. 17 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Opening night is tonight, Nov. 9 at 8:00 p.m.
