The Old Globe presents its third production of the 2014 Summer Season, Ronald Harwood's comedy Quartet, directed by Richard Seer (Other Desert Cities, God of Carnage, The Last Romance). Harwood received an Academy Award for his screenplay of The Pianist and was nominated for The Diving Bell and the Butterfly and The Dresser (also a hit on Broadway and the West End). The NATIONAL NEW PLAY NETWORK (NNPN), the country's alliance of non-profit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, has added its 28th and 29th Core Members, Cleveland Public Theatre and Miracle Theatre Group (Milagro). The decision was made by the organization's Board of Directors at its Annual Conference on June 12 in Charlotte, NC hosted by Core Member Actor's Theatre of Charlotte.

The Snow Queen:The New Musical that made its world premiere at San Jose Repertory Theatre last December, is an 'Official Selection of the 2014 New York Musical Theatre Festival,' the most prestigious musical theatre festival in the world. A full featured production of the fantastical coming-of-age tale based on Hans Christian Andersen's story was chosen as the one 'Family Musical' in the annual festival that runs July 7 - July 27, 2014. Half of the original cast will return, including Jane Pfitsch, who will take time off from Cabaret on Broadway with Alan Cumming to reprise her role as the Snow Queen. The show will have five performances at The Alice Giffin Jewel Box Theatre at the Pershing Square Signature Center.

Tony Award-winning comedy Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike will feature Resident Actor Jeffrey Bean as Vanya, Sharon Lockwood returning to the Alley as Sonia, Alley Artist Josie de Guzman returning as Masha, and Resident Actor Jay Sullivan as Spike. Rounding out the cast and making their Alley debuts are Rachael Holmes as Cassandra and Sarah Nealis as Nina. To be or not to be is no longer the question - critics and audiences agree that WITTENBERG is a hit. Aurora Theatre Company announces that it will add an additional 7 performances of the Bay Area Premiere of WITTENBERG, David Davalos' audacious comedy about reason versus faith. The off-Broadway hit show OLD JEWS TELLING JOKES comes to San Diego for a five week run at the Lyceum Theatre downtown and is sure to make audiences laugh 'til they plotz. Performances run April 23 - May 25. Opening night is Wednesday, April 30.
