David Darlow to Star in Chicago Shakespeare Theater's JULIUS CAESAR; Full Cast Announced!

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) announced today casting for its contemporary retelling of William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, staged by acclaimed British director Jonathan Munby in his Chicago debut, February 5-March 24, 2013 in CST's Courtyard Theater. The production features a celebrated company of artists that includes Jeff Award-winning Chicago actor David Darlow in the title role, Canada's Stratford Festival favorite Dion Johnstone as Marc Antony, New York stage and screen actor Jason Kolotouros as Caius Cassius and British actor John Light as Marcus Brutus. The production also welcomes the return of veteran CST actors David Lively as Ligarius/Lepidus, Barbara E. Robertson as Calphurnia and Larry Yando as Casca.

Fiona Shaw to Perform Samuel Taylor Coleridge's THE RIME, January 2013

According to reports, Fiona Shaw will be performing Samuel Taylor Coleridge's narrative poem The Rime of the Ancient Mariner in January. She will be joined by dancer, Daniel Hay-Gordon. It will be directed by Phylida Lloyd (Donmar's Julius Caesar) with choreography by Kim Brandstrup of ARC Dance.

Chicago Shakespeare Theater brings to the stage the Midwest premiere of David Ives' comedy The School for Lies, adapted from The Misanthrope by Moliere. Ives' play, Venus in Fur, was a 2012 Tony Award® nominee for Best Play; and his previous work with Chicago Shakespeare includes the CST-commissioned adaptation of Feydeau's A Flea in Her Ear-a 2006 world premiere directed by Gary Griffin. In "Sabrina Fair", Samuel Taylor's sort-of-Cinderella story, a playboy becomes interested in the daughter of his family's chauffeur. But would his more serious brother be a better match? Chicago Shakespeare Theater Announces Casting for 2012 Fall Season

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) announces casting for the 2012 Fall Season. The Tony Award® and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical, Sunday in the Park with George by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine will be staged by CST Associate Artistic Director Gary Griffin, September 26-November 4, 2012 in CST's Courtyard Theater. The season continues with The School for Lies by David Ives, adapted from Moliere's The Misanthrope and staged by CST Artistic Director Barbara Gaines, December 4, 2012-January 20, 2013 in CST's Courtyard Theater.

Four Clowns Present Two Nights of SUBLIMITY, 5/25 & 26

Sublimity by David Bridel, directed by Jeremy Aluma and David Bridel, will be presented by Four Clowns and The Clown School in Los Angeles for two performances only. Shows take place at the Lyric Hyperion Theatre & Cafe (2106 Hyperion Ave. LA, CA 90027) tonight, May 25 @ 8pm and Saturday, May 26 @ 8pm. $10 tickets here, or at www.fourclowns.org.

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) is currently presenting, William Shakespeare's rarely produced Timon of Athens, directed by CST Artistic Director Barbara Gaines and featuring Tony Award winner Ian McDiarmid in the title role. Performed in CST's Courtyard Theater from through June 10, 2012, Gaines' production also features Sean Fortunato as Flavius, James Newcomb as Apemantus and Danforth Comins as Alcibiades.
