The Poets' Theatre has announced Albatross, a solo performance piece adapted from Samuel Taylor Coleridge's captivating classic, 'The Rime of the Ancient Mariner.' The adaptation, written by Matthew Spangler and Benjamin Evett, is directed by Boston theater alum Rick Lombardo and features Benjamin Evett. Albatross will be on stage at the Liebergott Black Box at Emerson University, running February 13th through March 1st 2015.

When Matthew Spangler and Benjamin Evett read 'Albatross,' their adaptation of Samuel Taylor Coleridge's masterpiece, The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, at Cafe Bohemia on Sunday, April 13, two milestones converge.

Rime of the Ancient Mariner is a modern retelling of Samuel Taylor Coleridge's classic tale of a mariner and his crew.

The Spring schedule of Arizona Theatre Company's (ATC) Cafe Bohemia includes a satirical look at international surrogacy and a story inspired by Samuel Taylor Coleridge's masterpiece, The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, as well as two new features to complement the third season of monthly readings, jams and ideas.

The Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge and directed by Phyllida Lloyd, composed by Mel Mercier, with lighting design by Jean Kalman and Mike Gunning, set design by Chloe Obolensky and choreography by Kim Brandstrup, will play the BAM Harvey Theater (651 Fulton St), tonight, December 10 - 22, 2013 as part of the Next Wave Festival.

This fiery, pared-down adaption of the 215-year-old tale tells of consequences paid while marooned at sea and of man's wanderings throughout the world in search of meaning.

Directed by Elena Araoz and produced by David Davoli on an Off-Broadway contract, previews begin March 10th at HERE Arts Center. Opening is slated for Tuesday, March 17th. THIRST: a spell for Christabel retells Coleridge's gothic story in an abandoned forest suffering from an apocalyptic drought. Christabel and her father, stubborn hold-outs in the dying woods, are visited by a mysterious and opportunistic woman who quickly transforms their quiet world. Soon they must choose between her frightening, seductive promises and the quickly diminishing safety of the life they've always known. THIRST: a spell for Christabel will feature Matthew Cowles (Veronika Decides to Die, Life on Mars, Oz), Lori Funk, and Elizabeth Gross as Christabel, with set by Susan Zeeman Rogers, costumes by Chloe Chapin, lighting by Justin Townsend, and sound design by Arielle Edwards. Stage management will be by Rosie Goldman.
