According to Variety, Samuel L. Jackson and Neil LaBute are set to develop an as-of-yet unnamed television series together with the Showtime network.

On May 22, Anthony Chisholm, Jasmine Guy, Samuel L. Jackson, Audra McDonald, and Phylicia Rashad will be participating in Kenny Leon's True Colors Theatre Company Celebrity Golf Tournament & Gala. Anna Chlumsky (My Girl), Julie Halston (Gypsy), LaTanya Richardson Jackson (Freedomland), Doris Roberts ('Everybody Loves Raymond') and Brooke Shields ('Lipstick Jungle') joined the May cast of Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron's smash hit show Love, Loss, and What I Wore beginning this week on April 28 (through May 23). Popeater.com reports that Spike Lee has written a new movie about Michael Jackson. The movie is called 'Brooklyn Loves You, Michael Jackson,' and tells the story of a group of people organizing a tribute concert in honor of Michael Jackson and the conflict that arises with the 'gentrified people that live in the neighborhood.'

On Monday, April 19, Mother and Child, a drama film directed and written by Rodrigo García premiered at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood. The film, which stars Naomi Watts, Annette Bening, Kerry Washington and Shareeka Epps premiered on September 14, 2009 at the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival and at the Sundance Film Festival on January 23, 2010. It is scheduled to have a limited release in the United States on May 7, 2010.
