The third annual CABARET IS ALIVE AND WELL AND LIVING IN LOS ANGELES, Benefit Concert series for The Actors Fund conceived by David Galligan and presented by Fraser Entertainment Group, takes place Oct. 14th-16th with two nights at Tom Rolla's Gardenia, plus Sunday evening at the Catalina Jazz Club.

Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston will take audiences on a sentimental trip down memory lane with the revival of Remembering the 40's on October 1-2, 2016, Reagle's original musical revue recalling the 1940's home front.  Featuring a talented cast of singers, dancers and actors, live music and period costumes, Remembering the 40's is a cherished tribute to the war generation.  Sentimental repertoire from the era includes "I'll Be Home for Christmas," "I'll Be Seeing You," "This Is the Army" and "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy". Remembering the 40's is Directed by Robert J. Eagle, Choreographed by Susan M. Chebookjian, with Music Direction by Paul S. "I haven't specifically counted," the dynamic actress sitting opposite me replies. "Somewhere between 1000-2000 performances, I think. I've done the role with Theodore Bikel and Harvey Fierstein, on both national tours, and in regional and stock houses all over the country." Susan Cella is speaking of her signature portrayal of Golde, the vehicle which has brought her to the latest stop in her artistic journey, Maine State Music Theatre in a new production of the Bock-Harnick musical, Fiddler on the Roof, that opens July 20.

This weekend was my first ever visit to the Ogunquit Playhouse in Ogunquit, Maine. I have been vacationing in the Ogunquit area for years, always driving by the iconic sign on the scenic Route 1, but have never actually been inside. I have always loved Anything Goes, and my inner Gilmore Girls fan was dying to see Sally Struthers , Ogunquit Playhouse veteran, in a show. The Playhouse had almost every seat in the house filled and everybody was very excited for the show to start.

It only takes a moment to fall in love with the feel-good melodies and delightful characters of "Hello, Dolly!," the musical that gave film and Broadway star Carol Channing her signature role. Matchmaker Dolly Levi can be played a number of ways, which ensures every production remain refreshing and different. Barbara Streisand, Ethel Merman, Mary Martin and Sally Struthers have all taken on the title character. Sacramento's Music Circus brings in the lesser known, but amiable Lynne Wintersteller, now through Sunday in its second show of the summer.

Marcie Gorman-Althof and Michael Lifshitz, the producing partners behind MNM Productions, today named the five-person cast of THE WORLD GOES 'ROUND, a musical revue showcasing the music of legendary Broadway songwriters John Kander and Fred Ebb, including such audience favorite tunes as All That Jazz, My Coloring Book and New York, New York. Conceived by David Thompson, Scott Ellis and Susan Stroman, the show will run for 15 performances at the Kravis Center's Rinker Playhouse in West Palm Beach, starting on Thursday, August 4, 2016.

Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston will bring the bright lights of 1920's New York City to the stage with the Tony Award-winning musical comedy Thoroughly Modern Mille from July 7-17, 2016.  Millie will run for eight performances at the Robinson Theatre (617 Lexington St. Waltham, MA, 02452).  Directed by Broadway veteran Cynthia Thole (Me and My Girl), Millie will star Gabrielle Carrubba (American Idol Season 11, Spring Awakening) as Millie Dillmount, a small-town girl who arrives in New York City to lead a thoroughly modern life. Millie will also feature Maryann Zschau (Nunsense National Tour) reprising her IRNE Award-winning role as Mrs. Meers (Reagle Music Theater 2006) and IRNE nominee Mark Linehan (Shrek The Musical, South Pacific) as Trevor Graydon.  This lavish musical is filled with fabulous flappers, eccentric New Yorkers and soaring musical numbers including "Forget About the Boy" and "Only In New York."

The Ogunquit Playhouse sets sail with the delightful, Tony Award-winning Anything Goes June 15 to July 9. This splendid madcap musical comedy stars Broadway's Andrea McArdle as Reno Sweeney and features two-time Emmy Award winner Sally Struthers as Evangeline Harcourt. The pair are currently leading ANYTHING GOES at Gateway Performing Arts Center.
