The 10th Annual Goodspeed Festival of New Musicals, produced by Goodspeed Musicals' Max Showalter Center for Education in Musical Theatre, kicks off its much-anticipated three day festival of brand-new works on Friday, January 16, 2015 at the Goodspeed Opera House with a staged reading of the Jesse James-inspired musical Outlaws. On Saturday, January 17, the musical comedy The Noteworthy Life of Howard Barnes debuts. On the final day of the festival, the riveting For Tonight will be presented. Several special events will round out this exciting weekend.

More than 30 works by pastel artist Scotty Mitchell, who has spent nearly 20 years painting the vibrant hues and ever-changing light of southern Utah and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, are on view now through February 15, 2015 in the Museum of Northern Arizona's latest exhibition, Dialogue with Beauty-Scotty Mitchell Landscapes.

The ASCAP Foundation Awards Ceremony was held at The Appel Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center and Broadwayworld was there. This years recipient of the Masters Award was composer John Corigliano. Mr. Corigliano has also won fiver Grammy's a Pulitzer Prize the Grawemeyer Award and an Academy Award for his many scores and compositions. Rupert Holmes, Composer, Playwright, lyricist, mystery novelist, arranger-conductor, screenwriter, record producer and singer-songwriter received the Foundations George M. Cohan Award which is made possible by the Friars Foundation.

Perennial New York art-pop singer Rachael Sage has confirmed plans for a Valentine's Day concert at Joe's Pub in New York City. The local event, set for February 10th with advance tickets available now, will showcase Sage and her band The Sequins (featuring drummer Andy Mac and cellist Ward Williams,) as well as other guest performers, to be announced in the weeks ahead.
