Time Square Arts Presents WE WERE STRANGERS ONCE TOO Immigration Heart

Times Square Arts has announced that The Office for Creative Research is the winner of this year's annual Times Square Valentine Heart Design Competition, curated by the Urban Design Forum. Over the last nine years, the Times Square Alliance has invited architecture and design firms to submit proposals for a romantic public art installation celebrating Valentine's Day in Times Square.

The Office for Creative Research Wins Times Square Valentine Heart Design Competition

New York - Times Square Arts has announced that The Office for Creative Research is the winner of this year's annual Times Square Valentine Heart Design Competition, curated by the Urban Design Forum. Over the last nine years, the Times Square Alliance has invited architecture and design firms to submit proposals for a romantic public art installation celebrating Valentine's Day in Times Square. This year's winning design, We Were Strangers Once Too, will be unveiled on February 7, and remain on view for approximately one month at Father Duffy Square, between 46th and 47th Streets and a few feet away from TKTS and the Red Steps. 

PCI Presents Trampled by Turtles, Elephant Revival, and Amy Helm, 8/19

With an acoustic sound that "seeps deeply into our pores and permeates our core until their riffs merge with our pulse" (The Washington Post), Trampled By Turtles careens into spotlight with unbridled bluegrass on August 19. The string stampede also includes opening bands: Elephant Revival and Amy Helm. Concert starts at 7 p.m. (gates open at 5:30 p.m.) at Deer Valley Resort's Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater. Dierks Bentley, Kix Brooks, Punch Brothers & More Set for St. Regis Big Stars, Bright Nights this Summer

Park City Institute celebrates its 11th summer of presenting the St. Regis Big Stars, Bright Nights concert series at Deer Valley Resort with ten, powerhouse concerts: The Bacon Brothers (June 28), Punch Brothers (July 6), Dierks Bentley (July 24), Kix Brooks (July 31), Muscle Shoals Live and Lisa Fischer (August 3), Five For Fighting (August 16), Trampled by Turtles (August 19), Nashville Cafe (August 23), Vince Gill and the Time Jumpers (August 30) and a TBA show. All concerts are slated to be held rain or shine at Deer Valley Resort's Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater. Tickets go on sale to PCPAF members on Wednesday, April 9 and are available for purchase by the general public on Wednesday, April 16.

NY Phil and Juilliard to Host Farewell Recital in Honor of Concertmaster Glenn Dicterow, 1/19

The New York Philharmonic, in collaboration with Juilliard, presents a farewell chamber music recital in honor of Concertmaster Glenn Dicterow, longtime Juilliard faculty member who is retiring from Juilliard and the New York Philharmonic at the end of the current season. The concert on Sunday, January 19, 2014, at 5:00 p.m. in Alice Tully Hall features Mr. Dicterow with his fellow New York Philharmonic musicians and guests, most of whom also have a strong Juilliard connection, and includes specially selected works by John Corigliano, Korngold, and Dvorak that reflect Mr. Dicterow's career in both New York and Los Angeles.

Ryan Greer Jazz Group to Play Metropolitan Room, 9/22

In his return to The Metropolitan Room, vocalist Ryan Greer leads a remarkably pared-down and smooth combination of his own Ryan Greer Jazz Group with Neil Flink on guitar and Mark Verdino on bass. The intimate set, titled "Whisper Low," is a fresh take on the cool-jazz sound. Reinventing essential standards and post-bop classics from Harold Arlen to Eddie Harris, Duke Ellington to Chick Corea, the evening also features original Ryan Greer Jazz Group compositions. Theatre Out Opens THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW Tonight, 10/26

Theatre Out, Orange County's gay and lesbian theatre company, who brought you hit productions of AVENUE Q, SPRING AWAKENING and CABARET earlier this year, is pleased to present the musical cult classic THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW beginning tonight, October 26, 2012. Running through November 17, this Science Fiction parody musical, with book, music and lyrics by Richard O'Brien, has been a favorite with audiences since it opened in London in 1973.

The second annual Sheldon Art Galleries house tour features four significant homes designed by the architect Isadore Shank (1902-1992) in Creve Coeur, Frontenac and Ladue. These homes represent some of the best examples of modernist and mid-century design in St. Louis.
