Tracie Bennett will play Judy Garland in the West End premiere of Peter Quilter's End of the Rainbow. Directed by Terry Johnson, End of the Rainbow combines humour and heartbreak to capture both the drama of Garland's final performances in London and her controversial life off stage.

As well as winning several major awards, the production was driven by popular demand to extend its West End run, having already enjoyed sell-out runs at Chichester Festival Theatre and London's Royal Court Theatre. The Royal Shakespeare Company's 44 member acting ensemble will perform five plays by William Shakespeare at Park Avenue Armory as part of Lincoln Center Festival next summer. Lincoln Center Festival and Park Avenue Armory, in association with The Ohio State University, are bringing the Royal Shakespeare Company to New York for this six-week engagement. This unprecedented theatrical event takes place July 6 through August 14, 2011.

Whatsonstage reports that the West End's OLIVER! revival has set a closing date of 8 January, 2011. The production opened on 14 January 2009 with the West End's largest advance ever: £15 million. A spokesperson for the show is reported as saying: 'For a show as enormous as OLIVER!, a two-year run at Drury Lane is just fantastic, so we are going to have a sensational six-month send-off.' That send-off includes a special engagement on 30 June 2010, in which Ron Moody will return to the role of 'Fagin' for a special one-night-only 50th anniversary performance. He began performances in the same role at London's New Theatre on 30 June, 1960.
