At the coming San Sebastian Festival, British actress Emily Watson will receive the Donostia Award in recognition of her prestigious film career.

Playwright and Director, William W. Adams,  demonstrates 'Thinking Local' in every aspect of bringing his two one-act plays to life on the Ware Center stage tonight, September 4 at 7:30 pm in downtown Lancaster. 'Two to Move You' is two one act plays including 'Bound' which reveals how three neighbors discover the common experiences that have unexpectedly bound them, and followed by 'I'm Still Here' a one-woman drama featuring actor, Anne Meeder, telling the story of Julie Jennings' personal grit and survival after several life setbacks.  The Ware Center is located at 42 N. Prince Street, Lancaster.

Commissioned by the Finborough Theatre, Horniman's Choice brings together four plays by the leading figures of the 'Manchester School' of playwrights - Harold Brighouse, Stanley Houghton and Allan Monkhouse, all originally championed by Annie Horniman, owner of Gaiety Theatre, Manchester, the first regional repertory theatre in Britain. Horniman's Choice runs at the Finborough Theatre, playing Sunday and Monday evenings and Tuesday matinees from Sunday, 27 September 2015 (Press Night: Monday, 28 September 2015 at 7.30pm).

A memorial tribute will be held for Roger Rees, the legendary Tony Award-winning actor, and Tony Award nominated director, on Monday, September 21 at 1:00 PM at the New Amsterdam Theatre (214 W 42nd Street, NYC), it was announced today.  Doors will open at 12:30 PM, with general admission seating available to the public.  

On August 15, 1939, 'The Wizard of Oz' premiered in Hollywood while 10,000 fans lined the streets. Two days later it opened to the public, and the film industry changed forever. Every generation since has loved this film. A few found it terrifying. But no one has forgotten it.

The Folger Shakespeare Library continues its collaboration with Picturehouse Entertainment to bring the Royal Shakespeare Company from Shakespeare's hometown of Stratford-upon-Avon to Washington, D.C. with a screening of THE MERCHANT OF VENICE on Saturday, September 12th at 7:00pm.

Dark & Stormy Productions today announces the producers, venue, and partners for its upcoming production of Extremities by William Mastrosimone. Previously, Dark & Stormy has presented Outside Providence by Edward Allan Baker, Speed-the-Plow by David Mamet, The Receptionist by Adam Bock, The Drunken City by Adam Bock, and The Hothouse by Harold Pinter. Extremities will be the first production of Dark & Stormy's 2015 season.
