KING CHARLES III with Robert Powell Coming to Lyceum Next Month

Multi-award winning play King Charles III, starring Robert Powell, comes to the Lyceum Theatre from Monday 1 - Saturday 6 February, exploring the people underneath the crowns, the unwritten rules of our democracy, and the conscience of Britain's most famous family.

Michael Pennington to Lead New KING LEAR UK Tour

Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG) has announced that a major new production of Shakespeare's greatest tragedy, King Lear, will embark on a UK tour to nine regional venues from April to July in association with the Royal & Derngate Theatre, Northampton. 

BAM Kicks Off 2016 Winter/Spring Season of Theater, Dance, Music and Opera

Brooklyn Academy of Music kicks off programming for its 2016 Winter/Spring Season today, January 16, running through June 12, and comprising theater, dance, music, opera and visual art events in the institution's three venues-the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House, the BAM Harvey Theater, and the BAM Fisher.

Sacha Wares Returns To Almeida Theatre to Direct World Premiere of BOY, April 5

Sacha Wares will be returning to Almeida Theatre to direct the world premiere of Leo Butler's new play Boy, after her directorial success with the critically acclaimed production, Game, by Mike Bartlett, in 2015.  Boy will run at the Almeida Theatre from 5 April until 28 May 2016, with press night on 12 April 2016. Director Sacha Wares is joined by a formidable creative team, including two powerhouse contemporary designers, Miriam Buether for set design (Wild Swans, Sucker Punch, My Child, Generations), who worked with Sacha on Game at the Almeida in 2015, and Ultz for costume (Jerusalem, Hobson's Choice, Fallout, Pied Pier), who will be collaborating with Miriam, on design, for the very first time. Further creative credits include movement by Leon Baugh, lighting by Jack Knowles and sound by Gareth Fry.

Simon Stephens' HERONS and More Slated for Lyric Hammersmith's Spring 2016 Season

The Lyric Hammersmith today announces its Spring 2016 Season. They will present the first professional production of Simon Stephen's HERONS since the play premiered at the Royal Court in 2001, directed by the Lyric's Artistic Director Sean Holmes. This is followed by the return of their co- production with Filter Theatre of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM last staged in 2012. Whilst the Royal Opera will present, two contemporary operas, PLEASURE by Mark Simpson featuring well-known British soprano Lesley Garrett and the world premiere of Sarah Kane's 4:48 PSYCHOSIS by Philip Venables, both presented in association with the Lyric.

Rehearsals recently began for Theatre for a New Audience's production of William Shakespeare's PERICLES directed by Trevor Nunn, featuring OBIE Award-winner Christian Camargo in the title role and leading a diverse company of 22 actors. PERICLES begins previews February 14 for an opening February 25. It is scheduled to run through March 27. BroadwayWorld has a sneak peek at the company in rehearsal below!

Live Taping of PERSON PLACE THING Podcast Set for Theatre for a New Audience, 1/24

Theatre for a New Audience will present a live taping of the podcast Person Place Thing with host Randy Cohen interviewing internationally acclaimed director Trevor Nunn on Sunday, January 24, at 7:00pm at Polonsky Shakespeare Center, 262 Ashland Place.  Tickets are $15 for the general public and $12 for Theatre for a New Audience subscribers.

Rising Sun Performance Company to Present SPRUCEHAVEN B

As the first production of their 15th Anniversary Season, Rising Sun Performance Company is pleased to announce that they will be presenting the World Premiere of SPRUCEHAVEN B, directed by Rising Sun's Artistic Director Akia, as part of the 10th Annual FRIGID Festival. The festival will take place February 15th through March 6th at The Kraine Theater & UNDER St. Marks.

Mirror Stage's 11th Season of Feed Your Mind Continues with THE PENELOPIAD

Sponsored in part by 4Culture, the 2015-16 season of Mirror Stage's popular Feed Your Mind staged reading series continues with The Penelopiad by Margaret Atwood, on February 6 & 7, 2016 at the Ethnic Cultural Theatre in Seattle's University District. Directed by Suzanne M. Cohen, Feed Your Mind: The Penelopiad features a multicultural cast of 13 women: Miski Ali, Angie Bolton, Ana Maria Campoy, Christi Cruz, Yadira Duarte, Alyssa Keene, Stephanie Kim-Bryan, Sneha Krishnan, Duygu Erdo?an Monson, Meenakshi Rishi, Meg Savlov, Naho Shioya, and Amber Wolfe.

Tickets to Writers Theatre's ARCADIA Now on Sale

Writers Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma, presents the first production in the Theatre's new home, Arcadia by Tom Stoppard, directed by Michael Halberstam. The show runs March 16 - April 24, 2016 at the Alexandra C. and John D. Nichols Theatre in Writer Theatre's new theater center at 325 Tudor Court, Glencoe. The Press Opening is Wednesday, March 23 at 7:30 p.m.

Red Bull Theater to Continue 12th Season with A TRICK TO CATCH THE OLD ONE with Stephen Spinella, Bill Buell & More
