Arena Stage is deeply saddened to announce that visionary leader and pioneer of the regional theater movement Zelda Fichandler has died today, July 29, 2016, at the age of 91.

? On March 26, the Philly POPS presents celebrated actor Tony Lo Bianco in his five-time Emmy Award winning, one-man Broadway show, The Little Flower at Prince Theater. In the play that Lo Bianco wrote, directed and stars in, he portrays Fiorello H. La Guardia on his last day in 1945 as mayor of New York City.

Tim Dang, Producing Artistic Director of East West Players in Los Angeles, CA, is the 2015 recipient of the Zelda Fichandler Award, an award to recognize an outstanding director or choreographer who is transforming the regional arts landscape through imaginative, brave work in theatre.  The $5,000 award, given by Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation, heralds both accomplishment to date and promise for the future, and lauds deep commitment to a community.

Today we are once again speaking with a world renowned living legend all about his phenomenal career on Broadway and in Hollywood in honor of his new 54 Below engagement later this month, titled STEPPIN OUT', the one and only Ben Vereen. Besides sharing what lucky attendees can expect from his 54 Below shows, Vereen also shares preliminary plans to bring a new biomusical to Broadway some season soon as well as the forthcoming release of a star-studded documentary all about his iconic show business legacy planned to be released later this year. Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF) opens the nomination process for The Zelda Fichandler Award on May 14, 2014. This award presents an unrestricted grant of $5000 to an outstanding director or choreographer making an exceptional contribution to the national arts landscape through theatre work in a region. In 2014, the award will honor achievement in the Eastern region, comprised of Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Vermont, Virginia, Washington D.C., West Virginia.

William Friedkin's Sorcerer, the cult suspense thriller that has been largely overlooked since its 1977 release, has now been acquired and fully restored by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment and will make its Blu-ray debut today, April 22, 2014.
