Stop…Look…Listen… The VOCA PEOPLE are coming from a galaxy far, far away.

A spaceship from planet VOCA just crashed to Earth and the VOCA PEOPLE are making their entrance. They discovered that their spaceship's fuel - musical energy - is running on empty. Their mission: to musically refuel their spaceship by performing the music of Earthlings. VOCA PEOPLE, (www.VocaPeopleNYC.com) created by Lior Kalfo and Shai Fishman, will land at The Westside Theatre, (407 W. 43rd Street) beginning June 23rd with the official opening scheduled for July 12th, it was announced today by producers Doron Lida, Revital Kalfo, Leeorna Solomons, and Eva Price (Executive Producer). I've seen a lot of unusual and unique productions, especially since I've been checking out the Ovations! Series at the Edison Theatre the past couple of years, and a recent presentation of THE ALUMINUM SHOW (April 30, 2011) provided yet another example of the kind of energetic and engaging fare that I've come to expect from them. Though I've seen the show described as being some kind of cross between Blue Man Group and Stomp, it's really something else entirely. In fact, with it's use of recycled industrial material, it has more in common with ScrapArtsMusic than it does with either of those. What it does provide is a dazzling display of tightly choreographed dance set to pulsating music, combining puppetry, along with remote-controlled 'critters' and outlandish costuming, to produce a spectacle wholly different from anything you've ever seen before.

Mayumana is a multicultural troupe, established in 1996 in Tel Aviv, whichdeveloped a unique language based on skills, rhythm, visual effects and,above all - creativity and humor.

The acclaimed performance troupe Mayumana will play the final performance of its newest stage spectacle Be at Off-Broadway's Union Square Theatre on Sunday, July 1, 2007, prior to re-embarking on an international tour.

This weekend, the Off-Broadway hit Mayumana hits the town, with two free public performances in Manhattan.
