Formally trained at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Mary Jane Wells has been a prominent fixture in the UK and European theatre scene. Mary Jane first came to the US for the Mark Taper French classic, The Red Balloon. A solo show, Martha, for the Annenberg Centre followed, then a tour to the Kennedy centre, the New Victory on Broadway, and the International showcase in Philidelphia where she won the Victor Award.
Mary Jane has worked on BBC's 'Half Moon Investigates,' and she narrated BBC3's TV show, My Childhood which won a Scottish BAFTA. Third Rail Projects' critically acclaimed production of THEN SHE FELL, which is celebrating its 1-year anniversary this week, has just won the 2013 New York Dance and Performance Award (Bessie) for Outstanding Production Performed in a Small Capacity Venue. This immersive theater event is inspired by the life and writings of Lewis Carroll (Alice in Wonderland). 'Funhouse,' written while Levenson listened to the music of guitarist Buckethead, is a three-day journey in a surreal amusement park filled with sea lions, guitars, monsters, crickets, spiders, a guillotine, a human pretzel, more guitars, a traffic jam, drought, grasshoppers, angels, and even more guitars.
