After a sold-out engagement last February, renowned San Francisco Bay Area jazz vocalist, Paula West, returns to Feinstein's at the Nikko for a four-week engagement - February 11 - March 6, 2016. Florida Studio Theatre will be hosting a "Sixties Shindig" on February 22 at 5pm in the Hegner Theatre Wing. This groovy gathering celebrates FST's ongoing campaign to support the Kretzmer Artist Residence Project and the presentation of this year's Jon Spelman Award to Ernie Kretzmer. The Sixties Shindig will bring together invited guests to join them in "havin' a gas" and taking in groovy live entertainment reminiscent of Laugh In comedy and various musical acts. The event will culminate in a seated dinner in the Court Cabaret, Bowne's Lab, and Green Room Cafe. Tickets are $250 per person with proceeds supporting the ongoing work of FST. The Kretzer Piano Music Foundation (KPMF) presents KRETZER KIDS IN CONCERT! Presented as part of the Foundation's ongoing Music for the Mind series, the concert will feature 13 talented young singers, pianists and even a trumpeter.

Utah Opera is continuing the Salt Lake Magazine partnership for the annual Libretti & Libations where art influences life - or at least a drink. Talented mixologists from favored Salt Lake City and Park City restaurants curate unique cocktails inspired by the season's opera productions. From Dec. 18 to Jan. 24, six locations will offer refined libations inspired by Utah Opera's The Merry Widow as a way of infusing food and beverage with the experience of opera. A former journalist and English teacher, Cheryl Bolen sold her first book to Harlequin Historical in 1997. According to Variety, Broadway will be getting another theatre in the near future. The UK's Ambassador Theatre Group, which owns the recently renovated Lyric Theatre, will renovate the Hudson Theatre next. The venue, currently a part of the Millennium Hotel, will be turned back into a Broadway house. Currently used for various corporate events, the theatre hasn't been home to a Broadway show since 1968.
The New York premiere of Pulitzer Prize finalist and Emmy Award nominated writer Rolin Jones and Tony Award nominee and Grammy Award winning Green Day front man Billie Joe Armstrong's new play with music THESE PAPER BULLETS!, directed by Jackson Gay, opens tonight, December 15, at Atlantic Theater Company.
