Dear Reader (It only seems appropriate to start this review off with that), sometimes a show comes along that feels like a no brainer. A show that's fairly bulletproof and if a theater does it well enough with enough pieces in place then it'll be a crowd pleaser. 'How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying' is one of those shows. You're bound to walk away from it with something you enjoyed. Which brings me to the current production at the 5th Avenue Theatre. They've managed to take this pleaser of a show so far beyond the bare minimum making this gem shine with so much brilliance that you may need sunglasses.

'ScholarTrips' Winners Announced by Allianz Global Assistance

RICHMOND, VA - Leading travel insurance provider Allianz Global Assistance USA has announced the winners of its 2015 annual 'ScholarTrips' essay and video contest. Allianz Global Assistance created ScholarTrips to give students the opportunity to travel abroad and experience new places and cultures. The company has now provided over $100,000 in travel grants to students across the country. Each of this year's six winners is being awarded a grant of $2,500 for their travel expenses.

Florida Studio Theatre to Host 60s Shindig on 2/22

Florida Studio Theatre will host a 60's Shindig on February 22, 2016 at 5:30pm in the Hegner Theatre Wing. Celebrating FST's ongoing campaign to support the Rosemary Artist Housing Project, this 60's shindig will also include the presentation of this year's Jon Spelman Award. Tickets are $200 per person with proceeds supporting the ongoing work of FST.

Alliance Theatre to Present THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE

Happy Birthday Carol Channing! She is the recipient of three Tony Awards (including one for lifetime achievement), a Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination. Channing is best remembered for originating, on Broadway, the musical-comedy roles of bombshell Lorelei Lee in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, and matchmaking widow Dolly Gallagher Levi in Hello, Dolly! She also appeared in two New York revivals of Hello, Dolly!, and toured with it extensively throughout the United States. Channing also appeared in a number of movies, The First Traveling Sales Lady (1956) with Ginger Rogers, the cult film Skidoo and Thoroughly Modern Millie, opposite Julie Andrews and Mary Tyler Moore.
