BWW Review: ALARMS AND EXCURSIONS presented by The Hampton Theatre Company

Closing out their spectacular 32nd season, the Hampton Theatre Company (HTC) offers the uproarious British comedy Alarms and Excursions by Michael Frayn. In this engaging play, the actors appear in a series of vignettes - different characters and stories; sometimes all on stage together and sometimes not - making light otherwise embarrassing situations. Moreover, situations involving new technology - 1998 technology. Most of the vignettes don't have any relation, but each are absolutely sidesplitting.

Roadtrip Nation and University of Maryland University College to Premiere Cybersecurity Documentary “Life Hackers”

Roadtrip Nation, renowned for its New York Times best-selling career guide and award-winning documentary television series, announced today that its new one-hour cybersecurity documentary 'Life Hackers' will air on American Public Television stations nationally starting on June 15, 2017. Distributed through KQED, the film was made possible through a collaboration with the University of Maryland University College (UMUC).

Larry Gatlin Kicks-Off Summer Season at Spencer Theater

Headlining the Spencer Theater Summer Season 2017 is the classic country praise music of The Blackwood Quartet and the legendary Larry Gatlin of The Gatlin Brothers on Saturday, May 27 at 8 p.m. (Concert tickets are $39-$69). This promises to be a night of pure western-styled gospel beauty with the Blackwood's favorite Christian melodies like How Great Thou Art, Put Your Hand In The Hand, The Light House, Amazing Grace, Peace In The Valley, and many other gospel classics. Western great Larry Gatlin (pictured above), the eldest of the three Gatlin Brothers and writer of all their greatest hits including All The Gold In California and Houston, holds some of the most prestigious awards in the industry. His showcase of gospel and Gatlin favorites will open the second set of music that night, following The Blackwood Quartet (pictured left). The duo of headliners will then come together in our stage lights for an extended encore of songs.  This special evening is being sponsored in-part by Lynn & Bruce Morgan and Sandra & David Barrett.

"Alarms and Excursions," a collection of rollicking comedies by "Noises Off" playwright Michael Frayn, will be the final offering of the Hampton Theatre Company's 2016-2017 season, opening on May 25 at the Quogue Community Hall and running through June 11.

BWW Feature: Antonia Bennett Brings a Lifetime of Performing to Café Carlyle in Venue Debut

Antonia Bennett, daughter of Tony Bennett and accomplished vocalist in her own right, is a lifelong performer. Since she "could walk and talk," according to her bio, Bennett has been performing with artists of legendary status: Rosemary Clooney, Regis Philbin, and, of course, her father. For the last 10 years, she has served as Tony's opening act in live shows and, in addition, has performed duets with him, including on his holiday album, A SWINGIN' CHRISTMAS. On May 23, Bennett will make her Cafe Carlyle debut in New York with a set comprised of selections from the American Songbook, a perfect fit for her inherited charm and too-cool demeanor, paired with her uniquely coy voice.
