MAC Award-Winning Vocalist Gary Crawford Presents BARRY LEVITT SONGBOOK at the Met Room Tonight

Vocalist Gary Crawford burst onto the New York cabaret scene like a "thunderbolt" in October 2014 with his debut show 'In Love With Love' at the Metropolitan Room. With the veteran Music Director and Arranger Maestro Barry Levitt at the piano, Crawford produced a captivating show that earned him rave reviews from BroadwayWorld.com and Cabaret Scenes Magazine and ultimately a 2014 Manhattan Association of Cabaret & Clubs Award (MAC) for "Best Male Vocal Debut." (Crawford had already performed a "CD Release" show of 'In Love With Love' at the Metropolitan Room that April). After spending the past year and a half performing as a guest singer in variety shows throughout city at venues such as Iridium, Birdland, Don't Tell Mama, and Urban Stages, Crawford has again teamed up with Levitt for a new show, this one featuring songs composed by Levitt himself. Crawford will star in Secret Dreams: Gary Crawford Sings The Barry Levitt Songbook at the Metropolitan Room on September 2 at 7 pm. The show will feature the Barry Levitt Quartet, including Jon Burr on bass, Ray Marchica on drums, and Jack Cavari on guitar, as well as special guest vocalists.

Meg McLynn was a huge hit with the audience last season in her tribute to Patsy Cline, so this time she returns with a tribute to one of the most iconic singers of all time, Judy Garland, in “I Could Go On Singing: The Judy Garland Songbook”. Musical director David Duvall will join Meg once again on the baby grand for the Sunday, September 13, 2015 at 2 PM performance at the Arthur Newman Theatre located at the Joslyn Center in Palm Desert as part of the Sundays In Summer Cabaret Series produced by Les Michaels.
Jim Caruso & Billy Stritch Returning for Residency at The Carlyle Hotel

Jim Caruso & Billy Stritch return to Bemelmans Bar at The Carlyle Hotel with an evening of swinging standards every Sunday in September, November and December, from 9pm - 12 midnight. The duo has recently added dozens of songs made famous by Frank Sinatra to their repertoire, thanks to their current national tour of The Sinatra Century. In this upcoming Carlyle run, Caruso and Stritch will be joined by bassist Steve Doyle.

nternational song stylist Iris Williams returns to the cabaret scene in a rare New York appearance, a one night only solo performance - her debut at Birdland, the landmark jazz club located in the heart of New York's theater district. During Ms. Williams' set, themed 'I Wish You Love,' she will interpret classic American standards featuring composers Gershwin, Harold Arlen, Duke Ellington, Burton Lane, and more. Founded by BroadwayWorld TV's own Michael Sterling (On-air Producer and Host for live entertainment news events in Los Angeles), Sterling's Upstairs first opened its doors at the renowned Vitello's Restaurant in Studio City, CA. where it single handedly brought back to Los Angeles the art of intimate upscale cabaret concerts which had all but vanished from the cultural scene in movie town, USA. However, in due time, the venue was whole heartedly embraced by enthusiasts of LA's performing arts community and continued to thrive for 6 successful years in a former storage room that was transformed by Sterling into a true supper club environment.

The Harry Allen Quartet (Harry Allen, tenor saxophone; Bill Cunliffe, piano; Joel Forbes, bass; Kevin Kanner, drums?) performs with vocalist Hilary Gardner on Sunday, July 5 at 7:30 pm in the ballroom of the Otesaga Resort Hotel in Cooperstown. The concert, part of the 17th season of the Cooperstown Summer Music Festival, features favorites from the Great American Songbook.
