PPAC and The VETS Announce Cyber Monday and Holiday Sales

The Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) and The VETS are pleased to announce that the Theatres will participate in Cyber Monday on November 30. All ticketing fees at www.ppacri.org and www.thevetsri.com will be waived, by using the code NOFEEPPAC for PPAC shows and NOFEEVETS for The VETS' shows.

Lyle Lovett & John Hiatt Perform at State Theatre Tonight

Lyle Lovett, Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter, and John Hiatt, Songwriter's Hall of Fame inductee, team up again for “An Acoustic Evening with Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt,” at 8 p.m., tonight, October 17, 2015, at the State Theatre. This intimate, side-by-side “unplugged” session features both artists alternating songs from their respective stellar careers. The duo mixes wry banter with some of the finest and most elegantly crafted music around, encompassing Americana, swing, folk, R&B and rock 'n' roll. Rosanne Cash to Curate Music Series as Part of 2015-16 Carnegie Hall Season

Beginning this fall, singer-songwriter Rosanne Cash will curate a four-concert Perspectives series at Carnegie Hall—a residency that offers a glimpse of the rich and disparate elements of American southern roots music, from traditional bluegrass to country and soul music, and from Western swing to hardscrabble, virtuosic folk music. Featuring some of the greatest artists working in these fields, the concerts are a celebration of a soulful and quintessentially American cultural form.

FirstWorks Announces Sets 2015-16 Season

FirstWorks, Rhode Island's premiere organization for connecting art with audiences and the nonprofit producer of the recent Providence International Arts Festival, rode the post-festival momentum today with the announcement of its 2015-16 season. Their new season kicks off the week of Nov. 16, 2015, and brings together a diverse roster of luminary artists across the genres of music, dance, spoken word and interactive performance. Now entering its second decade, FirstWorks is expanding its Artistic Icons Series at The Vets, inaugurating a new Frontier Series of genre-defining artistry, and making each performance a festival unto itself with free, pre-show programs designed as local cultural showcases in event venue lobbies.
