El Diario/La Prensa on its 100th Anniversary Celebration has partnered with Columbia University's Center for the Study of Ethnicity and Race (CSER) and the Rare Books and Manuscripts Library to preserve over 5,000 of its archival photographs.

Last year, over a thousand members of the Latino community and Latino arts aficionados jammed the Ware Center for the first Latino Film Festival. This year, the Festival has been expanded to Latino Arts Festival, which includes all the arts: music, dance and art, as well as film. The Festival is open to and encourages everyone in the community to take part in the three day celebration honoring Latino arts and artists.

Thursday, March 7th at 6 PM, the Ware Center kicks off the opening of the Latino Arts Festival with a gala reception in Lyet Lobby of the Ware Center overlooking Prince Street. The evening, which runs until 9 PM will include Latino music featuring a regional Latino band and vocals by Latino sensation Naiby Perez, remarks by dignitaries and art by local Hispanic teens, which is a part of the Lancaster County Young Artists Exhibit. The gala is free and open to the public.
Beginning at 4 p.m., three hours before the main awards show, the pre-telecast ceremony announced awards in 70 additional categories, including Best Musical Theater Album. For the eighth year in a row, Target returns as the title sponsor for this popular event, which attracts thousands of people annually to parks throughout Orange County. This year's concerts, "Spanish Nights and American Flair," led by Music Director Carl St.Clair, take place in three cities: Mission Viejo's Oso Viejo Park (tonight, July 28), Irvine's Orange County Great Park (July 29) and Lake Forest's Pittsford Park (Aug. 19). Featuring the popular guitar group Triada, the program offers light, Spanish-infused classical and pop music by Rodrigo and Bizet, favorite patriotic songs and a little Tchaikovsky for good measure.

NBC Sports Group will partner with Main Events to produce a second season of the network's successful primetime boxing series FIGHT NIGHT. The Saturday night boxing series will expand from six telecasts to up to 16 and will showcase compelling match-ups between some of the world's best fighters.
The Latino spirit is alive in New Harlem Arts Theatre's upcoming production of 'Sweet Charity,' directed by Julio Agustin, to be presented July 26 to August 19 at CCNY's Aaron Davis Hall, 135th Street and Convent Ave. The characters of the classic sixties musical will be re-envisioned to reflect the changing roles of Latinos in our society while the traditional music by Cy Coleman, lyrics by Dorothy Fields and book by Neil Simon will be preserved. The 1966 Broadway tuner was originally conceived, staged and choreographed by Bob Fosse. Director Julio Agustin has tapped choreographer Lainie Munro for the job of nestling his radical new concept into Fosse's formative jazz dances.
The Theater Company of Hoboken (TTC) will close out it regular season with the musical THE ME THAT NOBODY KNOWS. TONY-nominated and OBIE Award-winning, THE ME NOBODY KNOWS is a ground-breaking musical adapted by Robert H. Livingston and Herb Shapiro, with music by Gary William Friedan, and Lyrics by Will Holt and Shapiro, as directed by veteran TTC director Margaret Leone. Performances will be June 7, 8, 9, 14, 15 &16.
Lehman Center for the Performing Arts continues its 31st season with the return of legendary salsa pioneers LA SONORA PONCEÑA on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 8pm. With over 40 albums, La Sonora Ponceña has entertained audiences for nearly 60 years. Led by founder Enrique "Quique" Lucca and his son, piano virtuoso "Papo" Lucca, the group is known for such classic hits as "Hachero pa' un palo" and "Fuego en el 23." Enrique "Quique" Lucca recently celebrated his 99th birthday. Also appearing at this concert will be a band that burst onto the Latin music scene, 8 Y MAS, a collaboration of the musicians who have taken salsa back to its original flavor as they play "La musica de ayer, con el sonido de hoy" (yesterday's music with today's sound).
Rattlestick Playwrights Theater presents theaterjam3, a one-day festival featuring the work of many of the company's favorite playwrights, actors and directors. The brainchild of playwright Dael Orlandersmith, the all day event will take place at the Rattlestick Theater (224 Waverly Place - off Seventh Avenue South between West 11th & Perry Streets) on Sunday, March 11th. Doors will open at 1:30pm.
