Evidence, A Dance Company to Host The Torch Ball, 3/25

Evidence, A Dance Company will host its 9th Annual Gala on Monday, March 25, at New York City's The Plaza Hotel in celebration of the life and legacy of Beth Young, a phenomenal dance enthusiast and supporter of Evidence, A Dance Company, and to support the dance company's mission to promote understanding of the African Diaspora through dance, music and storytelling.

DANCE AND DIASPORA to Feature Works by Jill Parker and Tania Santiago at ODC, 2/22-23

Alvin Ailey's Season Continues This Week with REVELATIONS, GRACE, and STRANGE HUMORS

This week is the final opportunity this season to experience Alvin Ailey's masterpiece Revelations with live music - African American spirituals performed by soul-stirring vocalists - as well as with an expanded cast of 50 dancers on Saturday's family matinee! In addition to the opening of a new production of Ronald K. Brown's landmark Grace on Tuesday, December 11th, other upcoming performance highlights include 'All New' programs and the Company premiere of Artistic Director Robert Battle's Strange Humors.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Hosts Opening Night Gala Benefit Performance Tonight

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater will kick-off a five-week holiday season tonight, November 28th with a star-studded gala benefit performance at New York City Center and party at the Hilton New York. Academy award-winning actress and comedienne Mo'Nique will serve as the evening's Honorary Chair and Alvin Ailey's timeless masterpiece Revelations will be sung live with special celebrity guests onstage.

PHILADANCO Performs the Philadelphia Premiere of Matthew Rushing’s Moan, Dec. 7-9

Renowned contemporary dance company Philadanco performs an evening of works, entitled …BACK TO BLACK (What is so called 'Black' dance anyway), at the Kimmel Center's Perelman Theater, Friday-Sunday, December 7-9, 2012. Program highlights include Philadelphia premiere of Matthew Rushing's Moan, Milton Myers' Echoes: A Celebration of Alvin Ailey and Philadanco's signature performance pieces that highlight their bold, precise dance style, Ronald K. Brown's Exotica, and George Faison's Suite Otis.

NJPAC Announces Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts

John Schreiber, NJPAC's President and CEO, announced today that the Arts Center will be rolling out an ongoing relief effort for those affected by Hurricane Sandy, including designating 2,000 tickets for upcoming performances as relief fund tickets, where 100% of the ticket price will be donated to the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund. All relief fund tickets will be $25 and will be in locations throughout Prudential Hall and the Victoria Theater. The Center will also become a drop-off site for the ongoing collection of goods that will be donated to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey.
