Executive Chef Rodolfo Cuadros of Carnivale, the global Latin-Fusion restaurant located in Chicago's West Loop neighborhood, will accompany a group of culinary masters to Cuba for The Havana Culinary Exchange from September 24 through October 1. Hosted by James Beard Award-winning Chef and Godfather of Nuevo Latino Cuisine Doug Rodriguez (who also mentored Chef Cuadros), The Havana Culinary Exchange features leading chefs from the United States and Canada, including John Mooney, Susur Lee, Kevin Sbraga, Fernando Martinez, Dean Corbett, Bernie Matz, Aaron May, Michael Isabella and Bradley Killgore.
Ron May, Stray Cat Theatre's founding artistic director, has further propelled his arc of artistic excellence with a stunning staging of AMERICAN IDIOT, and, in turn, reveals the work's continued relevance. Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) along with event chairs Randy and Sandy Stilley welcomed 380 guests to the Who Dunnit? Gala on at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, April 23. Adorned in attire befitting an Edwardian murder mystery, TUTS supporters and theatre aficionados dined, danced and participated in an original presentation from TUTS - an interactive musical. Tempe's Stray Cat Theatre is certainly not the Valley's only alternative theatre, but their stellar show selection and quality showmanship makes them arguably the best. The group, run by locally celebrated actor and director Ron May, will soon vacate their home at the Tempe Performing Arts Center, leaving behind nearly a decade of unique, creative history that is art in the truest sense.
