Broadway Sensation GOD OF CARNAGE At Orlando Shakes

Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF (OST) continues its 2011-2012 Signature Series with Yasmina Reza's 2009 Tony Award-winning play, GOD OF CARNAGE, playing October 12 through November 13, 2011 on the Goldman Stage. Under the direction of Orlando Shakes Associate Director of New Play Development, Mark Routhier, two high-strung couples battle each other in a hilarious 90-minute brawl hailed as a 'four-way prize fight' by The New York Times.

Richard Pearson Passes Away at 93

According to published reports, actor Richard Pearson passed away yesterday in a home for retired actors. He was 93 years old.

Woodshed Collective Presents THE TENANT, 8/10-9/17

The world premiere of The Tenant, which will be performed free of charge at West-Park Presbyterian Church on the northeast corner of 86th Street and Amsterdam Avenue (entrance on 86th Street), begins performances Wednesday, August 10 at 8pm, and opens Wednesday, August 24 at 8pm. Conceived and produced by Woodshed Collective (Teddy Bergman, Gabriel Hainer Evansohn, Stephen Squibb, Artistic Directors), The Tenant is written by Bekah Brunstetter, Sarah Burgess, Paul Cohen, Dylan Dawson, Steven Levenson, and Tommy Smith with production dramaturgy by Stephen Squibb. The Tenant is directed by Teddy Bergman and Stephen Brackett and plays through Saturday, September 17.

Photo Coverage: First Stills from GOD OF CARNAGE Film!

Just released are the first stills from Roman Polanski's upcoming big screen adaptation of God of Carnage that will debut this summer at the Venice Film Festival (August 31- September 10). The film features John C. Reilly, Jodie Foster, Kate Winslet and Christoph Waltz in the new version of Yasmina Reva's Tony-winning play and is due to hit movie theatres in the United States on November 18, 2011.

REBECCA to Open on Broadway April 2012; Blakemore, Zambello, Daniele Join Team; Boggess Likely to Star

Producers Ben Sprecher and Louise Forlenza, in association with Tony Fusco and Larry Feinman, and by special arrangement with/and based on the Vereinigte Buhnen Wien GmbH production, announced that the new musical REBECCA, based on the classic novel by Daphne du Maurier novel, will open on Broadway Sunday, April 22 at a Shubert theater to be announced. Previews will begin Tuesday, March 27. Sierra Boggess (currently starring in Master Class, The Little Mermaid, Love Never Dies) is in negotiations to play the role of 'I.'

Kim Cattrall & Paul Gross Headed to Broadway in PRIVATE LIVES; Begins Nov. 6

Kim Cattrall and Paul Gross will star on Broadway this autumn in Noël Coward's Private Lives directed by Richard Eyre at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street). Previews will begin on Sunday November 6; opening night is Thursday November 17. The limited engagement runs through February 5 2012.

Paul Gross Joins Kim Cattrall in Pre-Broadway PRIVATE LIVES in Toronto this Fall

Noel Coward's Private Lives, which played the West End's Vaudeville Theatre for a ten week season beginning in February 2010 starring Kim Cattrell and Matthew Macfadyen, will travel across the pond and open at the Royal Alexandra Theatre in September in a Mirvish production. Cattrall will also star in this production, which reportedly has an eye for Broadway. She will be joned in Toronto by Paul Gross. Richard Eyre will continue on as director.

Guthrie Theatre's GOD OF CARNAGE Opens 5/28

Jennifer Blagen, Chris Carlson, Tracey Maloney and Bill McCallum will duke it out this summer in God of Carnage, opening May 28 2011, on the McGuire Proscenium Stage. Yasmina Reza's 2009 Tony Award-winning play, under the direction of Guthrie Associate Artistic Director John Miller-Stephany, pits two highly-strung couples against each other in a 90-minute laugh-out-loud comedy hailed as a 'four-way prize fight' by The New York Times.

Reza's HOW YOU TALK THE GAME to Debut at Comédie-Française

According to the NY Times, Yasmina Reza's newest play, HOW YOU TALK THE GAME, might make its debut at Paris' Comédie-Française. The new play, which was inspired by Guy Peellaert's 'The Big Room,' is about a French novelist who decides to promote her lateest project by taking an interview with a reporter.
