Yale Repertory Theatre, celebrating 50 years of daring artists, bold choices, and adventurous audiences, presents the world premiere of Scenes from Court Life, or the whipping boy and his prince by Sarah Ruhl, directed by Mark Wing-Davey, tonight, September 30, through October 22 at Yale University Theatre (222 York Street). Opening Night is Thursday, October 6.

Poetry Melts Across the Screens of Times Square with October's Midnight Moment

In partnership with the French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF) as part of FIAF's 2016 Crossing the Line Festival, Times Square Arts will highlight the human details that bring us together with Tim Etchells' Eyes Looking, which will appear on Times Square's electronic billboards from 11:57 p.m. to midnight every night in October. This project is a part of Midnight Moment, a monthly presentation by the Times Square Advertising Coalition (TSAC) and Times Square Arts.

Director Yana Ross makes her BAM debut with Franz XaverKroetz's poignant cultural critique, Request Concert. The play consists only of stage directions, nodialogue. The sole character is a 50-year-old middle class woman who lives alone in an overly tidyapartment. She comes home from work, prepares dinner, does the laundry, watches TV, and listensto a radio program. Surrounded by Ikea furniture and brand-name appliances, acclaimed Polishactress Danuta Stenka infuses these actions with an increasing sense of loneliness and futility.Request Concert explores the devastating circumstances of life in a world that values objects overpeople. Staged in the round, the audience is invited to walk around the set and observe the production from all angles.

Baryshnikov Arts Center Hosts Annual Fall Fete: Singer/Songwriter And Alumna Somi Performs

Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) will host its annual benefit to support the Center's programs on Monday, September 26, 2016, in BAC's Jerome Robbins Theater and Howard Gilman Performance Space. The festive, intimate evening will raise funds for BAC through ticket purchases and a silent auction of visual art works. Proceeds will support BAC's artist-centered programs and help to maintain affordable ticket prices.

The NAC Orchestra and The Glenn Gould Foundation Celebrate The Genius of Philip Glass

On Saturday, November 26, iconic American composer Philip Glass will be awarded The Eleventh Glenn Gould Prize at an exclusive concert in his honour, presented by The Glenn Gould Foundation and the NAC Orchestra.  The Genius of Philip Glass features the NAC Orchestra led by guest conductor Dennis Russell Davies performing a concert of music spanning the legendary composer's career.

Alex Timbers and Stefanie Batten Bland to Receive 2016 Jerome Robbins Award

Stefanie Batten Bland, a choreographic artist and 2016 Bessie Schonberg Fellow is the Artistic Director of Company SBB. Alex Timbers is a two-time Tony nominated playwright and theater director, recipient of the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards, and two-time OBIE and Lortel Award winner, and co-creator and co-executive producer of the television show, Mozart in the Jungle. Both will be presented with the 2016 Jerome Robbins Award at Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) on November 7, 2016 at an invitation-only performance beginning at 6.30.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Presents THE BLUES PROJECT

Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts presents Dorrance Dance with Toshi Reagon and BIGLovely in The Blues Project, October 5 and 6, 2016 for two performances in the Kennedy Center Eisenhower Theater. Acclaimed tap dancer, choreographer, and 2015 MacArthur "Genius Grant" winner Michelle Dorrance and renowned versatile singer, songwriter, and guitarist Toshi Reagon combine their energetic ensembles for a dynamic collaboration honoring tap's uniquely beautiful history by pushing the boundaries of the genre.
