The Rita Moreno California High School Musical Honors Announce 2015 Nominees

The Rita Moreno California High School Musical Honors - formerly called The California High School Musical Honors - announced today the 2015 nominees who will compete in front of a panel of nationally recognized judges on Monday, June 1, 2015 at San Jose's Center for the Performing Arts.

Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Sets 2015-16 Season

Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Music Director Robert Spano and Principal Guest Conductor Donald Runnicles today announced the 2015-16 season of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (ASO), the Orchestra's 71ST season and Mr. Spano's and Mr. Runnicles' 15th season as artistic partners. The 25-week subscription season will feature monumental classics, world premieres, distinguished visitors and spectacular choral masterworks to mark a year of celebration as the 2015-16 Atlanta Symphony Orchestra season honors the 100th birthday of the legendary Robert Shaw.

Ron Rifkin Joins The Collegiate Chorale's THE ROAD OF PROMISE Tonight

The Collegiate Chorale announces that Ron Rifkin will join the cast of the US Premiere of Kurt Weill's The Road of Promise tonight, May 6, 2015 at 8pm and May 7, 2015 at 7pm at Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall, 881 7th Avenue, New York, NY 10019.

Jean-Yves Thibaudet Joins the ASO This Weekend

Piano virtuoso Jean-Yves Thibaudet returns to Atlanta Symphony Hall to perform Ravel's Piano Concerto. Music Director Robert Spano will lead the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (ASO) in Stravinsky's The Firebird Suite and Gershwin's An American in Paris, and a soon-to-be-classic, the world premiere of Atlanta School of Composers member Michael Gandolfi's Imaginary Numbers. The performances will take place this weekend, April 30, 2015, at 8:00 p.m., May 1, 6:30 p.m. and May 2, 2015, 7:30 p.m.

WWFM's SOUNDS CHORAL to Celebrate 10th Anniversary

Tt has been 10 years since a program dedicated to choral music debuted on WWFM The Classical Network, located on the West Windsor Campus of Mercer County Community College (MCCC). The CAPA Summer Movie Series, the longest-running classic film series in America, celebrates its 45th anniversary in 2015 with an impressive assembly of classics, cult favorites, and beloved films. The 2015 series will run June 5-August 9 at the historic Ohio Theatre (39 E. State St.) and will feature 29 films over nine weeks (no films scheduled for the week of the Fourth of July).

Mannes Orchestra & New York Choral Society to Perform Two Works at Carnegie Hall, 4/8

The Mannes Orchestra, the student orchestral ensemble of Mannes College at The New School, and the New York Choral Society will join forces to perform John Adams' On The Transmigration of Souls and Paul Hindemith's When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloom'd, April 8 at Carnegie Hall. David Hayes, who leads both groups, will conduct the performance of these two masterpieces, both of which are inspired by profound historic events and celebrate the strength and resilience of the American spirit. On The Transmigration of Souls will feature the critically acclaimed Young People's Chorus of New York City. When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloom'd will showcase the soloists Abigail Fischer (mezzo-soprano) and Lee Poulis (baritone).

The Collegiate Chorale Receives NEA Grant

National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Chairman Jane Chu has announced that The Collegiate Chorale is one of only 919 nonprofit organizations nationwide to receive an NEA Art Works grant. The Collegiate Chorale will receive a $30,000 grant in support of its May 2015 concert and CD recording of Kurt Weill and Franz Werfel's musical epic, The Road of Promise.
