The world's most famous fictional sleuth adds a novel chapter to his repertoire with playwright Jeffrey Hatcher's electrifying new whodunit SHERLOCK HOLMES AND THE ADVENTURE OF THE SUICIDE CLUB, which opens the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park's 55th season. The play is an inventive mash-up of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's iconic characters and the Robert Louis Stevenson short story "The Suicide Club," providing a clever, intricately woven new mystery for Holmes to deduce. SHERLOCK HOLMES AND THE ADVENTURE OF THE SUICIDE CLUB runs Sept. 6 through Oct. 4 in the Robert S. Marx Theatre.

This week the winner of the Olmsted Performing Arts art contest inspired by "Jekyll & Hyde: The Musical" was announced. It is 13 year old Blake Gallaway from Parma.

Amphibian Stage Productions today announced newly released screenings of National Theatre Live through early spring 2015, presented in association with the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. Last summer Beach Haven's Surflight Theatre came back from superstorm Sandy with a superb production of 'Les Miserables' starring Broadway's Bart Shatto as Jean Valjean. This summer, Broadway's got 'Les Mis,' but luckily the beach still has Bart. Shatto currently stars as not one, but two 19th century protagonists, 'Jekyll & Hyde,' in Frank Wildhorn's 1997 musical sensation. It's almost as if he were playing Valjean and Javert. If such a thing were possible, Shatto would be the man to do it.
