Nan Goldin And Lydia Lunch Honored By The Kitchen At Spring 2018 Gala

The Kitchen's Spring 2018 Gala celebrates Nan Goldin and Lydia Lunch, two iconic American artists whose careers were borne of, deeply influenced, and have now engrained in collective memory the underground artistic spirit and political underpinnings of pre-gentrification Downtown New York subcultures (May 16). The evening features performances by New York's own post-punk band Bush Tetras, saxophonist and vocalist James Chance, and Australian singer JG Thirlwell & Ensemble with special guests. The after-party, hosted by Nicolas Jaar, will include a DJ set by Veronica Vasicka as well as performances by Retrovirus along with Lydia Lunch.

The flag, which references the number of days Flint, MI residents have been without water, will be on view at sixteen cultural institutions and universities across sixteen states: Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Rhode Island, and Texas.

The flag will be on view at twenty-one cultural institutions and universities across sixteen states: California, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Rhode Island, and Texas.

The fourth season of The Artist Project, the online video series created by The Metropolitan Museum of Art, launched today-Monday, December 7. Each episode in the series features an artist who discusses an individual work of art or gallery at the Met that sparks his or her imagination. The series will be presented in six seasons of 20 episodes each.
