The world-premiere of Rachel Teagle's adaptation will give audiences the opportunity to embark with Gerda on her heralded quest to save her brother from the icy allure of the mysterious Snow Queen. The story, which showcases the true strength love can have over cynicism, is a sure-fire way to warm our hearts all winter long. 'When we decided to produce our first holiday show we knew it needed to be set in a cold environment,' Director and Founder Brian Clowdus tells us. 'The Snow Queen has such a strong message of redemption and loyalty - what we do for those we love, how to not judge a book by its cover - it was the perfect story for us to tell.'

The Asian American Composers and Lyricists Project and ReImagined World Entertainment will present 'Arriving In Asian America,' a song cycle collectively written by members of the project with original words and music by Adam Gwon, Timothy Huang, Christine Toy Johnson, Ming Aldrich-Gan, Hyeyoung Kim (with Michael Cooper), Leon Ko, Robert Lee, Yoonmi Lee (with Gaby Gold & Zhu Yi), Yan Li, Jason Ma, J. Oconer Navarro, Kamala Sankaram, Tidtaya Sinutoke (with Ty Defoe) and Jeff Tang.

On September 20, West Coast musical theatre composer Bill Haller is set to roll out his third L.A.-based live musical "Rock Van Winkle" at Oh My Ribs Theatre at the Complex in Hollywood. "Rock Van Winkle" is the story of a Woodstock era musician who, in August 2001, crawls out of a clothes dryer in an abandoned Laurel Canyon bungalow after a 30-year acid trip and encounters three generations of pop music royalty.

The Suzi Bass Awards, Inc. revealed nominations for the 2013-2014 Atlanta professional theatrical season this evening to theatre patrons and industry artists. The Suzi Nomination Party, which rotates venues, was hosted this year by Actor's Express in the King Plow Arts Center of Atlanta. Guest announcers included performers Christy Baggett, Laura Cole, Danielle Deadwyler, and Tess Malis Kincaid.

There's something cool going on in Duluth. I mean, there are lots of cool things going on in Duluth; it's one of Minnesota's top tourist destinations, with the lake and the big ships and all. But specifically on the music-theater front, which is what brings joy to my heart, there is something new and cool going on. It's called TAKE IT WITH YOU and it's live radio theater, recorded monthly at The Underground in Duluth's historic Depot, and available for free online listening. This scripted serial radio program hearkens back to the days when people used to gather around their radios to listen to music and stories about their favorite characters. Now we can gather around our computers to listen, or plug into a podcast, as we follow this quirky cast of characters on their monthly adventures. It's described as 'CHEERS meets A PRAIRIE HOME COMPANION meets AUSTIN CITY LIMITS,' but I encourage you to give it a listen and see for yourself just how charming and funny and silly and musically delicious it is.
