Liev Schreiber to Star in Showtime Pilot RAY DONOVAN

Multitalented actor Liev Schreiber has been cast in the title role in the SHOWTIME pilot RAY DONOVAN, a drama set in Hollywood, California. Production will begin in Los Angeles in early 2012. RAY DONOVAN is a SHOWTIME production and is created by Southland creator Ann Biderman. Biderman, Mark Gordon and Bryan Zuriff will executive produce.

TimeLine Names Nine New Associate Artists

TimeLine Theatre Company has announced the addition of nine new Associate Artists - Will Allan, William Brown, Aaron Carter, Andrew Carter, John Culbert, Mildred Marie Langford, Mechelle Moe, Ann Wakefield and Alex Weisman.

Goodman Theatre Resident Director Chuck Smith announces his cast for the Chicago premiere of Race, David Mamet's 'intellectually salacious' (Chicago Tribune) portrait of prejudice and social injustice within the judicial system (January 14 - February 19, 2012). The ensemble cast includes Patrick Clear (King Lear, The Clean House) as Charles; Marc Grapey (Vigils; Dead Man's Cell Phone at Steppenwolf Theatre Company) as Jack; Geoffrey Owens (Opus at Two River Theater Company, Julius Caesar at Shakespeare Theater Company in Washington, DC) as Henry and Tamberla Perry (In the Next Room or the vibrator play at Victory Gardens Theater, Eclipsed at Northlight Theatre) as Susan. Tickets for Race ($25 - $79) go on sale December 2. Mayer Brown is the Corporate Sponsor Partner for Race and WBEZ 91.5 FM is the Media Partner.

Ruth Ann Gillis Named Chairman of Goodman Theatre

Goodman Theatre's Board of Trustees has announced Ruth Ann Gillis, a former Board President, as its new Chairman. Gillis, whose history and involvement with the theater spans decades, follows immediate past Chairman Patricia Cox's two-year term.

Goodman Theatre's RED Extends Through 10/30

By popular demand, Goodman Theatre extends the Chicago premiere of Red by John Logan for one additional week: the production now closes Sunday, October 30. Directed by Artistic Director Robert Falls, Red stars Washington, D.C.-based actor Edward Gero as Mark Rothko, and Chicago's own Patrick Andrews as Rothko's assistant Ken. Deadline.com first reported last week, and now The New York Times has confirmed that THE SOCIAL NETWORK and upcoming SPIDER-MAN star Andrew Garfield has indeed joined the cast of the upcoming revival of Arthur Miller's Pultizer Prize-winning play DEATH OF A SALESMAN, to be directed by Mike Nichols. Oscar-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman will star as traveling salesman Willy Loman, Linda Edmond will play his wife, Linda, and Andrew Garfield will play Loman's son, Biff. Scott Rudin will produce the revival, set to open next March at the Barrymore Theatre.
