The critically acclaimed new Broadway musical THE BAND'S VISIT begins previews on Broadway at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street) on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at 8pm, and opens November 9, 2017. THE BAND'S VISIT will have twenty $40 Rush Tickets available for each performance, available only day of the performance at the Barrymore box office.

The San Francisco Early Music Society's 2017-18 concert season kicks off the weekend of October 20 with three concerts by The Aulos Ensemble. The venerable original instrument ensemble will perform a program devoted to Handel and His World, featuring selections from Henry Purcell's The Fairy Queen, one of Telemann's Paris Quartets and several more pieces for three and four voices by both Handel and Telemann.

Tony Award-winning Broadway producer Mike Isaacson will be presented The Commercial Theater Institute's Robert Whitehead Award for 'outstanding achievement in commercial theatre producing' at a reception at Sardi's on Wednesday, May 10, 2017. The San Francisco Early Music Society's 2016-17 Season comes to a close the weekend of April 7 with three concerts by HALLIFAX & JEFFREY with guests Marie Dalby Szuts, Josh Lee and John Lenti, in a program dedicated to French music for viola da gamba from Louis Couperin to Marin Marais and Michel Corrette. Hallifax & Jeffrey are the duo of Peter Hallifax and Julie Jeffrey, and together with Szuts and Lee they comprise a consort of bass viols. Lenti on theorbo will play the continuo parts.
