Mississippi Mud Productions' SEAGULL69 Sets Talkbacks with Austin Pendleton

Tony-nominated and Obie-winning Chekhov director Austin Pendleton helms and appears in Mississippi Mud Productions' SeaGull69, a new version of Anton Chekhov's masterpiece, The SeaGull. This is a world premiere of an adaptation by Austin Pendleton and the acting company drawing on Marian Fell's translation. Set in Los Angeles in the summer of 1969, the play looks at family and friends pursuing the American dream of fame, love, and fortune in Hollywood, the land of dreams. Chekhov's sense of humor along with his tender and honest look at life is explored through the terrain of this family and their circle's life in Hollywood from 1969-1971. Nora Theatre Kicks Off 2014 with INSIGNIFICANCE, Now thru 2/9

The Nora Theatre Company will present Terry Johnson's Insignificance from today, January 9 - February 9, 2014. Insignificance is directed by Daniel Gidron. The press performance for Insignificance is Monday, January 13 at 7:30PM.

Emma Hunton, Griffin Matthews & More to Star in World Premiere of Diane Paulus-Helmed WITNESS UGANDA at A.R.T.

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University announced today the cast and creative team for the world premiere production of Witness Uganda, created by Matt Gould and Griffin Matthews, directed by A.R.T. Artistic Director Diane Paulus, with choreography by Darrell Grand Moultrie. The production begins performances at the Loeb Drama Center at 64 Brattle Street, Cambridge on February 4, and will run through March 16. It is available for press viewing from Wednesday, February 12, at 7:30pm.

American Repertory Theater to Offer Sensory-Friendly Performance of THE LIGHT PRINCESS, 1/3

American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) has scheduled a sensory-friendly performance of The Light Princess on Friday, January 3 at 2:00pm at the Loeb Drama Center, designed to create a welcoming environment for children with Autism spectrum disorders or other sensitivity issues. Slight alterations will be made to the performance, specially trained volunteers will be on hand, and quiet areas in the lobby will be available for children whoneed to take a break from the show. A social story and a character guide will be provided to all families prior to the performance, to help acclimate family members with Autism spectrum disorders or sensitivity issues to the experience of live theater.

Khandi Alexander, Jason Bowen and Kathleen Chalfant Set for A.R.T.'s 'WEDDING BAND' Reading Today

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University and the Hutchins Center for African and African American Research (formerly known as the Du Bois Institute), in conjunction with Hilton Als of The New Yorker, will present a staged reading of Alice Childress's Wedding Band: A Love-Hate Story in Black and White, co-directed by Hilton Als and A.R.T. Artistic Associate Shira Milikowsky. It takes place at the Loeb Drama Center, 64 Brattle Street, Cambridge, starting at 7:30pm, and will be followed by a post-reading discussion.

ELEGY to Open 10/31 at Richard Christiansen Theater at Victory Gardens Biograph

The Elegy Project will present the Chicago premiere of Elegy, October 31 - December 1, written by Ron Hirsen and directed by Dennis Zacek at the Richard Christiansen Theater at Victory Gardens Biograph, 2433 Lincoln Ave. Preview performances are Thursday, Oct. 31 at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 2 at 5 and 8:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 3 at 3 p.m. Opening/press night is Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. and will be followed by a reception. The performance schedule is Thursdays and Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 5 and 8:30 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. There is no performance Thursday, Nov. 28 and an added performance Sunday, Dec. 1 at 7:00 p.m. Ticket prices are $30 for previews, $48 for opening night and $42 for the regular run. Co-authored with Barry Nalebuff, Honest Tea co-founder and Yale School of Management professor, the book explains how they built their business from five thermoses to morethat 100 million bottles a year. Since its publication in September 2013, it has been named a New York Times and Wall Street Journal Best Seller.
