Hathaway, Foxx Set for RIO 2 Sequel; Full Casting Announced!

Returning to RIO 2, a world rich with grandeur, character, color and music are Anne Hathaway, Jesse Eisenberg, Jemaine Clement, will.i.am, Tracy Morgan, George Lopez, Leslie Mann, Rodrigo Santoro, Brazilian singer Bebel Gilberto, Jake T. Austin, and Jamie Foxx.

Moises Kaufman to Direct Daniel Beaty's THE TALLEST TREE Premiere at La Jolla Playhouse, 10/9-11/3

La Jolla Playhouse announces a fifth production for its 2013/14 season: the world premiere of The Tallest Tree, a new play with music written and performed by Daniel Beaty (Emergency, Through the Night), directed by Moises Kaufman (I Am My Own Wife, The Laramie Project). A co-production with Kansas City Repertory Theatre, The Tallest Tree will run in the Playhouse's Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre October 9 - November 3, 2013. The piece is produced in association with Tectonic Theater Project.

Benjamin Bratt to Narrate LATINO AMERICANS on PBS

Today at the Television Critics Association meeting, PBS announced actor Benjamin Bratt will narrate LATINO AMERICANS, a landmark three-part, six-hour documentary series that is set to air nationally on PBS in the fall of 2013. It is the first major documentary series for television to chronicle the rich and varied history and experiences of Latinos, who have helped shape the United States over the last 500-plus years and have become, with more than 50 million people, the largest minority group in the U.S.

Kimmel Center Presents continues ¡VOZ! Congreso, a collection of intimate conversations with acclaimed Latino celebrities and intellectuals, with filmmaker Carolyn Brown and NBC bay area news reporter Damian Trujillo discussing the biographical film From the Fields: An American Journey on February 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Kimmel Center's Innovation Studio. Univision 65 lead news anchor Ilia Garcia hosts and moderates the evening with Trujillo and Brown engaging in a dynamic conversation about Trujillo's beginnings as a farmworker in Salinas Valley, Calif., his experiences as a journalist, and his role as host of "Comunidad Del Valle," the longest-running public affairs show in Northern California.

Actress Eva Longoria , San Antonio philanthropist and business leader Henry R. Munoz III and San Juan attorney and activist Andres W. Lopez , in partnership with the nation's leading Latino organizations, announced today that Raul Esparza , Jose Feliciano , Juan Diego Florez , Melanie Griffith , George Lopez , Mario Lopez , Rita Moreno , Chita Rivera , Robert Rodriguez , Llewellyn Sanchez-Werner , Ballet Hispanico, Coral Contigas, Coro de Ninos de San Juan , the Esperanza Azteca Youth Orchestra, the Pan American Symphony Orchestra and other entertainers will headline 'In Performance at the Kennedy Center,' an event honoring the presidential inauguration and Latino arts and culture on Sunday, January 20, at 7:00 p.m.

First Look - Cyndi Lauper on TV Land's HAPPILY DIVORCED

As previously reported by BroadwayWorld, 1980s popstar and KINKY BOOTS lyricist Cyndi Lauper accepted a guest starring role on Fran Drescher's TV Land sitcom HAPPILY DIVORCED. The first image of Lauper and Drescher as two old friends has just been released.
